Good afternoon everyone, I have a few short posts to get to this weekend. There is nothing very special about this post, but if you currently have a CitiBusiness Platinum Select American Airlines AAdvantage World MasterCard, you should receive a new credit card in the next few days with an EMV Chip. I did not request a new credit card to be sent out, Citi voluntarily sent out a new credit card with an EMV Chip. If you would like your CitiBusiness Platinum Select American Airlines AAdvantage World MasterCard to have an EMV Chip and you haven’t received one yet, call the number on the back of the credit card and ask Citi to send out a new credit card. The credit card number, expiration date, and CVV code are all the same. The front and back of the credit cards have been slightly redesigned. The top card is the old credit card and the bottom card is the new credit card.
Your American Airlines frequent flyer number is printed on the back of the new credit card.
Here are the inserts that came with the new credit card. Pretty standard stuff here. Basically, “Chip Technology” = “safer and more secure”. As a reminder, this is only Chip and Signature, not Chip and PIN.
If you have any questions about the new CitiBusiness Platinum Select American Airlines AAdvantage World MasterCard, please leave a comment below. Have a great weekend everyone!
I got one of these awhile back and then just yesterday I got another one, Same exact card except the mag stripe was different. Instead of the gray one like you show it has a stripe with a mastercard holigram through it. Weird.
Dan, are you sure it wasn’t upgraded to a World Elite card? Where it says “World” on the back right – does it now say “World Elite”?
Is there a difference in credit lines necessary to get a World MasterCard vs World Elite MasterCard?
There doesn’t appear to be with Citi. My last personal Platinum AA card had a $1500 CL and got upgraded. I know BofA had a $5,000 minimum.
Hmm, I will look into this and see what is going on.
What is the number on the top right at the back? Mine says “Exp. 05/23” but the card is valid thru 10/24.
Hi Renato, are you asking about the “70233 OD” and “00962 OA”? I think that references which card design / version / batch number of the credit card. That doesn’t effect the credit card expiration date.
