Hotel Review: Bellagio Fountain View Room Upgrade & Fountain Music Channel

Good morning everyone.  This past weekend, my girlfriend and I made a short trip to Las Vegas.  During the weekend, we visited 4 lounges (the SFO Centurion Lounge once, the LAS Centurion Lounge twice, and the OAK Escape lounge).  When we were not in a lounge, we spent most of our time at the Bellagio Hotel (there are a few MGM AMEX Offers ending soon, like $50 off $250).

During the online checkin process, I was presented with a few upgrade options from our standard”Run of House” room.  One of the upgrade options was to a Fountain View room for $50/night.  Since the Bellagio fountains were a big reason why we stayed at the Bellagio, I decided to surprise my girlfriend by upgrading us to a Fountain View room.  Our room was on the 20th floor and left of center looking at the fountains, Las Vegas Blvd and Paris Las Vegas across the street.  In this post, I will show you how to get the most out of your Bellagio Fountain View room in 5 easy steps.

Step 1: Rearrange the furniture (couch or chair) in the hotel room to get the perfect view of the fountains.

Step 2: Turn on the TV and go to channel 22, which is the Fountains of Bellagio channel.

Step 3: This channel plays a continuous loop of music and various fountain shows, but wait for the fountains to come alive.  Each show last ~5 minutes, depending on the song played.  Here are the fountain show times:

  • Monday – Friday (3pm to 8pm): Every 30 minutes.
  • Monday – Friday (8pm to 12am): Every 15 minutes.
  • Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays (12pm to 8pm): Every 30 minutes.
  • Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays (8pm to 12am): Every 15 minutes.

Step 4: When the fountains are alive, the TV channel will play the same music that you can hear from the street level.

Step 5: Enjoy the Bellagio fountain show and front row view from your room.  During the evening, the fountain lights turn on and light up the water, so you get an even better show.

If you have any questions about the Bellagio fountains or the Fountain View room, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone.

P.S. If you have MGM resort credit and want to see an incredible show, I highly recommend the ‘O’: The Aquatic Cirque du Soleil show (inside the Bellagio hotel).  The entire show is filmed above water and there are high wire acts, acrobatics, fire walkers, high divers, and there are only 2 clowns, but they are funny, not creepy.  Enjoy the show!

Jealous – this sounds amazing. I’ve been going to Vegas since I was a teenager, with my parents (like 2000-2004) and I go frequently for work trips now, but I have yet to stay at the Bellagio. Interesting re: the radio channels, too!

If you can book a cheap “Run of House” room at the Bellagio, the $50 upgrade to the fountain view is definitely worth it :)

PS: I just looked but do not see the $50 off $250 offer for my AmEx – I have the Delta AmEx. Perhaps it’s only certain AmEx card?

It was actually a Twitter Amex Offer (back when you could apply them to more than one card, which seems to have ended). Glad you got to make excellent use of it, Grant! I wanted to but couldn’t find any friends willing to commit before expiration.

Nice! 2 years ago for my 10th anniversary I booked a fountain view room. Due to gold MGM status matched from HyattCC (or cash bribe) was upgraded to 18th floor smack dab in the middle. Asked about additonal FV suite upgrade which was several categories above- no dice. Your 5-step program is right on.

However, you did leave out having the limo driver (since you pay for an hour anyway) stop off at the liquor store for a bottle of Veuve Cliquot on the way…

Nice, I don’t think there is a bad Fountain View room, but I would have loved to be directly in the center. Glad you enjoyed your stay at the Bellagio :)
