One of the best uses of IHG points is when IHG is running a PointBreaks promotion. On April 30 the current PointBreaks locations were announced. And the current IHG 80% bonus promotion is available for purchases of IHG points made until May 31, 2018.

IHG 80% BONUS PROMOTION

The bonuses are tiered:

• 40% bonus on purchase of 5,000 – 19,000 points
• 60% bonus on purchase of 20,000 – 29,000 points
• 80% bonus on purchase of 30,000 – 100,000 points

Recently IHG increased the purchase upper limit from 60,000 to a 100,000 points. Members may purchase a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year and receive as a gift a maximum of 100,000 points per calendar year. Under this promotion, purchase of 100,000 points for $1,000 USD would yield a total of 180,000 points.

Remember that the IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card offers fourth night free on award redemptions, which enhances the points purchase value even further. Normally, points purchased post and appear in account within 24 hours, but can take 72 hours in some cases.

What are IHG PointBreaks?

IHG PointBreaks promotions allows members to book reward nights at select IHG locations for as little as 5000 points. IHG has improved this promotion, and now includes properties that can be redeemed at 5K, 10K and 15K, and also allows Points+Cash bookings!
