Fun in America’s Finest City… Any Time of Year!

The change of seasons is certainly one way to mark time. Many would say here in America’s Finest City AKA San Diego, the seasons are subtle and there isn’t much change of seasons. I’ve heard people label the seasons in funny ways such as “it’s either drink beer indoors or drink beer at the beach season”. We do get our June gloom, and in the summer when the AriZonies escape the heat, tourism does seem to pick up. In the month of January I’ve had people ask me, “Is the weather like this all the time?” And recently when some friends from Buenos Aires were in town and I was showing them around, they couldn’t get enough of the fresh air and sunshine.

So no matter what time of year you come to enjoy San Diego, I’ve got plenty of suggestions for you. You know I’m coffee focused, so here’s where to get your fix. And if you stay in the hip and trendy areas of North Park or Hillcrest, here’s a few more cafes to try.

Like doing free things on your vacations? Who doesn’t. Try these! And I know for sure you’ll want some beach time, so here’s information on San Diego’s best beaches. All that fresh air and beach time will give you a good appetite. I have some top picks for eating around the city. And ice cream, too!

Not everyone who visits stays in Coronado, but I’m betting you’ll visit. It’s one of my favorite places in San Diego County, so it’s filled with locals, too. The Hotel Del is a famous icon. The grounds are lovely, the pool and patio deck area have amazing ocean views, and believe it or not during the Christmas holiday they turn their grassy area into an ice skating rink!

You’ll want to walk around Coronado to take it all in. I have a special loop I like to walk, so here’s my particular version of the best ways to see and enjoy Coronado!

So there you have it. Don’t wait to plan your trip to San Diego. Not that San Diego is going anywhere :) Rather it’s a fun, easy, destination to enjoy, and if I do say so myself, a great place to call home.

Thinking of going to Cartagena for 10 Christmas to New Years. We want to split our time between the walled city and a beach resort. Any suggestions ?

HI Debbie, I think you may have asked this question to the wrong blog post. This post is about San Diego, California.
