Good morning everyone. I had a great time at the Chicago Seminars travel conference and enjoyed meeting several TWG readers over the weekend. It is always great to put names to faces. In credit card news, my $75 annual fee posted to my Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card on August 31. One of the main reasons (or only reasons) to keep the credit card is the 6,000 anniversary points. I was anxious for the 6,000 anniversary points to post to my Wyndham Rewards account, but the points posted slower than I expected.
A few weeks before the annual fee posted to my Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card, I received this anniversary email on August 6.
Fast forward to my most recent Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card statement and the 6,000 anniversary points finally showed up.
I logged into my Wyndham Rewards account and saw that the 6,000 anniversary points posted on October 22, almost 2 months after the annual fee posted to my Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card. I really wish the anniversary points would post faster.
Interestingly, you can actually buy 6,000 Wyndham Rewards Points for $78, so the annual fee is $3 cheaper than buying the points directly. If I can redeem all of my Wyndham Rewards points this year, I do not plan on keeping this credit card another year.
If you have any questions about the Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
I actually had to call for my anniversary points last year. Ended up taking over 6 months to finally get them posted.
I also learned that they will NOT post the anniversary points if you call to negotiate the annual fee and they waive it.
Dang, that is ridiculous! So you either pay the $75 annual fee or you don’t get your 6,000 anniversary points?
It took me 51 days to get the anniversary points. My plan is to get as close to 42k as possible so that when the platinum bonus points hit next year, I can do 3 nights at a Viva property or in Napa and then cancel at the next anniversary…
I have exactly 60k Wyndham points, so I am trying to do the same thing as you. I have my eye on some all inclusive properties in the Caribbean :)
I had 3 nights planned at the mills house in Charleston that fell through. As of now, I have 2 nights at the TRYP South Times Square. I’m not big into inflated evaluations, but the room we booked (includes bunk beds) was going for ~$650/night!
Dang, those NYC prices always shock me. Have a great time in NYC. I have never stayed at a TRYP hotel, how are they?
I’ll find out in about 6 weeks.
Thank you :)
Mine usually posts about a month and a half or so after annual fee. Luckily I have the old version with 15K anniversary bonus.
Dang, I wish I had the 15k anniversary points bonus.
