Good morning everyone, I hope you enjoyed reading yesterday’s post: Redeem Wyndham Rewards Points Part 1: Transfer Points to Airline Miles & Timeshare Fees. For today’s post, I will cover transferring points from Wyndham Rewards to Caesars Rewards (and vice versa), calculate the transfer times for each direction, and share a tip on how to extend your Wyndham Rewards Points expiration date. To get started, sign into your Wyndham Rewards account and then go to the Caesars Rewards page.
You can transfer Wyndham Rewards Points to Caesars Rewards Points in 10,000 point increments (1:1 transfer ratio). This might be one of the best redemption options available for Wyndham Rewards.
For this test, I transferred 10,000 Wyndham Rewards Points into 10,000 Caesars Rewards Points on February 16, 2021. According to the website, the points should post to my Caesars Rewards account in the next 7-14 days (between February 23 and March 2).
I also received a confirmation email with details of my Wyndham Rewards Points transfer. I wish the emails were a little more specific and mentioned which travel partner the points were sent to.
I then went to my Wyndham Rewards account and looked at the My Activity section. I can see my transfers to United Airlines (from yesterday’s post) and to Caesars Rewards.
I checked my Caesars Rewards account every day until I saw the 10,000 points post on February 22, 2021 (~6 days after the transfer from Wyndham Rewards). Strangely, Caesars Rewards does not have a page that shows account activity, which would seem obvious for a rewards program.
Since it took ~6 days for points to go from Wyndham Rewards to Caesars Rewards, I wanted to see how quickly points could be transferred the other way. To transfer points from Caesars Rewards to Wyndham Rewards, sign into your Caesars Rewards account and click on Rewards Match & Exchange. Then click the Wyndham Rewards logo.
From here, you can select the number of Caesars Rewards Points you want to transfer to Wyndham Rewards Points. Since I had 10,000 points in my Caesars Rewards account, I selected 10,000 Rewards Credits from the drop down menu. I entered my Wyndham Rewards account number and clicked the Transfer button.
According to the terms, you can transfer up to 30,000 points to Wyndham Rewards per year and the transfer time is 6-8 weeks.
The transfer is not instant, so I had to wait 1-2 days for my Caesars Rewards account to refresh and show 0 points. Like I mentioned earlier, there is no account activity page to see any recent transactions. I didn’t even get an email about incoming points or outgoing points, which Caesars Rewards should also set up.
I checked my Wyndham Rewards account every day until I saw the 10,000 points post on February 25, 2021 (~3 days after the transfer from Caesars Rewards). I’m very surprised the transfer was so quick (much faster than the stated 6-8 weeks).
If you have Wyndham Rewards Points, you should check the expiration date of your points. Wyndham Rewards Points expire 4 years after you earn them. When you redeem points, the points with the earliest expiration date are used first. When I checked the expiration date before I made my transfers to United Airlines and Caesars Rewards, I had 31,831 points expiring on October 31, 2021. After redeeming 16,000 points, I now have only 15,831 points that expire on October 31, 2021.
How to extend your Wyndham Rewards Points expiration date
I do not think there is a cap on the number of points you can transfer from Wyndham Rewards to Caesars Rewards, but there is a cap of 30,000 points you can transfer from Caesars Rewards to Wyndham Rewards. Therefore, if you have 30,000 points or less that expire with Wyndham Rewards, you can transfer 30,000 points to Caesars Rewards and then transfer those 30,000 points back to Wyndham Rewards. Those incoming points will then have a new 4 year expiration. If I am not able to use the 15,831 Wyndham Rewards Points before they expire on October 31, 2021, I will make sure to transfer the points to Caesars Rewards and back to Wyndham Rewards to extend the expiration date.
