Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  Travel with Grant just turned 10 years old!  Yup, I started this blog on May 1, 2013 and I can’t believe I’ve had a travel blog for 10 years (I really can’t believe I have done anything for 10 years, let alone blogging). To celebrate this special occasion, I wanted to give away 10 x $10 Amazon Gift Cards to my readers.

To enter the giveaway…

Leave a comment on this post by 11:59pm PT on May 3 telling me about your favorite article / topic covered on Travel with Grant.  I will select 10 winners by Friday, May 5 and email them a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

Good luck to everyone who enters the giveaway and here’s to 10 more years!

P.S. In case you were wondering, here are the 9 other blogiversary posts I wrote throughout the years:

Your posts on Carlson/Radison were extremely useful. I’m spending the last of these points now for a free week in London!

I’m glad you are able to use up your remaining Radisson Rewards Points. Are you staying at a Radisson Blu in London?

Yes, staying at Radisson Blu Edwardian Mercer St. in Seven Dials adjacent to theatreland! Thanks for turning me on to this hotel chain & credit card many years ago! I’ve stayed here many times on points thanks to you. Cheers!

I checked my photos and I did stay at that hotel in January 2016 during my last trip to London. I can’t remember the nightly points price but I think it was in the 40k-50k range. It was a really nice hotel in a great location, but the room was a little on the smaller side. Enjoy your stay there :)

I started reading your stuff about 9 years ago and got into the CC points game pretty hard then. You helped me and my wife make many trips thanks to the old gift card to bluebird checking account routine.

In the course of time as things changed, all those CC’s helped me have really good credit!

So a big thank you for all the content over the years.

Bluebird and Redbirds were awesome, that was the heyday of MS, for me at least. I’m glad your credit scores are higher than ever – keep it up!

Congratulations Grant on 10 years. That’s a great accomplishment. I really appreciated your blog post about the Citi Access More card and the info about doing a Product Change for it since it wasn’t publicly available any more. I’ve had that card for many years and I’m grateful for you passing that knowledge on.

The Citi AT&T Access More CCs were great for a long time, but I have since product changed all of mine to the Citi Custom Cash since the ATTAM 3x online purchases were getting too difficult to keep track of.

Hey Dan, have you had a chance to stay at a Vacasa with your family? They should be perfect for large families if you find the right “one bedroom” location.

Congrats! I have been reading for a while and look forward to your credit card app-o-rama. It inspires me! I also learn quickly which credit cards to apply to, and most importantly WHY. I also like reading about your weekends away – nothing too glamorous or aspirational but doable.

Ahh yes, my App-O-Ramas were pretty epic. I would apply for 1, see if I was approved, then apply for the next, see if I was approved, and keep going until I got a denial or two. Glad you enjoyed those posts :)

Hi hi! I stumbled upon your blog during the pandemic and then went down a rabbit hole of points and miles. I would look at boarding area on a daily basis multiple times per day. Thank you for all the trips I have been able to go on. We recently paid cash for a few nights at a hotel and my husband was appalled at how much people pay for hotels and it was a Hampton inn and suites.

Really appreciate your yearly annual fee articles. I like that you thoroughly explain your rationales for which cards you think are worth keeping and which you downgrade or cancel.

Thanks iPod! Annual fees are lame, so I like to see if I can justify paying the annual fee every year. I have a few credit card annual fees that just posted this week, so I will report back on how those retention calls went.

Your best post is your last post, because, like all your posts, it consistently demonstrates that you just want to spread your experiences and thoughts, rather than being a salesman for Chase.

I do not read your blog regularly. However, I am an avid Ebay buyer who always make an effort to link to your blog so you can earn commission however the small amounts are. I do not support Amazon due to its pathetic treatment of employees, vendors and sub-contractors. But I learned the benefits of points and miles from you, FM and OMAAT.

I appreciate you reading and for using my ebay links. I do see a few transactions come in every once in a while and was wondering who was using those links. Happy shopping and safe travels!

Congrats Grant! I appreciate the knowledge you bring regarding airline miles, hotel points, and credit card offers. I feel you try to represent fairly with facts rather than pandering to certain interests where you might earn a commission.
Here’s to many more years!! (If you so desire)

Hi Susan, thanks for the kind words. I try to be as honest and unbiased as I can about various airlines, hotels, and credit cards. Since blogging is just a side hobby of mine, I am not too concerned about the income and commissions that come in from TWG.

Congratulations! Thank you for so many useful and detailed articles you’ve written over the past decade. I’ve particularly enjoyed the coverage of using miles and points for stays in places with more space – Vacasa via Wyndham and HICV properties with IHG, for example.

Hi Chris, 90% of my travel is on Alaska Airlines from SFO and STS, so I think you will be happy with Alaska Airlines in Seattle (probably will be difficult to get upgrades, but the flights should be better than Southwest Airlines).

I especially appreciated your August 27, 2018 (can almost 5 years have already passed?) introducing your readers to the Travel Freely service/app. When “playing” the miles and points “game,” it’s crucial to maximize sign-up bonuses, etc. — and your explanation of using this tool to help one do so was very helpful. Thanks and congratulations on 10 years!

Hey CJ, I hope you are doing well. Vacasa doesn’t charge any fees or taxes when booked with WR points. You don’t even need to provide a credit card on file with your reservation. It is 100% WR points only.

Vacasa only has properties in the US, Canada, Mexico and Costa Rica, with the best redemption options in US and CA, so it won’t work for your Stans trip.
