Reminder: Condor Airlines has Flights to/from Europe for 25K-45K (Economy) & 55K (Business) using Alaska Miles

Good afternoon everyone.  2 weeks ago, my wife and I decided to book a last minute trip to Europe this summer with stops in Prague (PRG), Copenhagen (CPH), and Amsterdam (AMS).  Researching award flights can be a combination of excitement, frustration, and extreme outside the box thinking.  I love using Point.me to search for award space and was able to find Air France business class saver space for San Francisco to Paris to Prague (SFO-CDG-PRG) for 65,000 miles + $242 in taxes/fees per person.  Point.me pro tip: run multiple searches at the same time in different tabs to maximize your searching and minimize your time.

For our return trip, I had a much harder time finding saver award space back home.  Luckily, Point.me found Condor Airlines business class flights that were bookable with Alaska Airlines miles.  If you want to see what Condor Airlines business class looks like, check out this One Mile at a Time review.

In this post, I will show you the 15 routes that Condor Airlines flies from Frankfurt, Germany (FRA) to the United States and Canada.  I will also sort them in a table based on arrival city (alphabetical) and duration (shortest to longest).  The dates shown in these images were the first available business class flights I found, but award space is constantly changing, so you may find more or less award space if you look today.  Economy prices range from 25K to 45K miles, depending on availability and the route; business class is fixed at 55K miles for all routes.

Here are all the Condor Airlines flights from Frankfurt to the United States and Canada, sorted by arrival city (alphabetical).

Airport Duration
Anchorage (ANC) 9 HR 45 MIN
Baltimore (BWI) 9 HR 15 MIN
Boston (BOS) 8 HR 25 MIN
Edmonton (YEG) 9 HR 45 MIN

Los Angeles (LAX) 12 HR 35 MIN
Minneapolis (MSP) 9 HR 45 MIN
New York (JFK) 8 HR 35 MIN
Phoenix (PHX) 12 HR 5 MIN
Portland (PDX) 10 HR 55 MIN
San Francisco (SFO) 12 HR 20 MIN
Seattle (SEA) 11 HR 15 MIN
Toronto (YYZ) 9 HR 0 MIN
Vancouver (YVR) 10 HR 35 MIN
Whitehorse (YXY) 9 HR 30 MIN

Confession time: I wasn’t able to find award space on the nonstop flight to San Francisco (FRA-SFO) on the date that I wanted, so I had to get creative.  I looked for award space to cities up and down the West Coast and Southwest (LAX, SFO, PDX, SEA, YVR, LAS, and PHX).  Luckily, I finally found an award flight to Vancouver, Canada (FRA-YVR).  I then booked another award ticket to get back to San Francisco (YVR-SFO).  If your home airport is not served by Condor Airlines or if award space does not line up with your plans, you might need to get creative and see if there is award space to another airport.

If you have any questions about using Point.me to search for award space or about finding Condor Airlines business class award space, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

    I had planned to fly Condor SFO-FRA nonstop for 25K + $48 taxes economy. Business 55K + $48.

Ended up booking an award for 35K Aegean miles a couple days ago due to cheaper flight connection to Berlin on day I wanted to be there and skipping the need for a hotel stay in Frankfurt and train ride.

Condor definitely looked like good value award from SFO to Europe.

Hey Ric, nice to hear from you. Those sound like great prices for a nonstop flight from San Francisco to Frankfurt. What route did you eventually book on Aegean?

So, is Condor available only with Alaska miles? And booked online or have to call?

Flights from Europe to US come up lately with crazy mileage prices. To Europe is still reasonable but a lot of work.
Thinking to sell my blog to buy a private jet, do you think I have a chance?

Hey George, yes, Condor can only be booked with Alaska Airlines miles and you can book it online, in the app, or on the phone.

Flights to/from Europe this summer are crazy, but hopefully you can get that private jet soon :)

    Grant,
Nice job booking Condor. I just returned from a Europe trip and was able to book business class YYZ-CDG in Air France for 56,250 and $233 in taxes and AMS-LAX in KLM business class for 61,875 and $280 in taxes. It was a great trip and the family loved flying in business class! Does Point.me actually find the award space or does it just provide routing options?

Hi Rich, good work booking YYZ-CDG and AMS-LAX in AF / KLM business class. I wish I could have found AMS-LAX business class on the right date, but I booked too late and prices were 200k-300k :(

Did you book a separate flight for LAX-YYZ to catch your Air France flight?

I’m excited to fly Condor Airlines, since I’ve never been on that airline. I can see how it compares to AF / KLM.

Point.me is actually checking for award space across 100 different airlines in real time. I’ve never see “phantom” space show up on Point.me that wasn’t bookable with the airline.

        Hey Grant,
Thanks for the reply. I’ll have to try out Point.Me for my next award booking.

For the LAX-YYZ leg I booked a WestJet flight using Delta Points 12,500 Delta miles and $5.60 taxes. Ended up staying 3 nights in Toronto and visited Niagara Falls before our flight to Paris. Toronto is an amazing city and Niagara Falls was awesome. I thought that was a good deal using Delta miles as most flights I was looking at from LAX-YYZ were over $300+. I booked all the flights about 10 months in advance.

Hi Rich, that sounds like a great price for the nonstop WestJet award flight. I have been to Toronto once, but that was probably 25 years ago, so I definitely want to go back and visit. I’m glad you enjoyed your trip :)

I’ve used Alaska miles for Condor business to Europe in the past. It’s not as nice as some other carriers from a product standpoint but it’s still a good deal.

Hey Dan, glad to know you thought it was a good product. I’m not expecting world class quality service and seats, but it should be fine fir a 10+ hour daytime flight home. Better than sitting in economy :)
