My Experience Matching Alaska Airlines MVP Elite Status to JetBlue Mosaic 1 Elite Status

Good afternoon everyone, happy Friday!  A few days ago, I read Frequent Miler’s post JetBlue launches status match for AA, Alaska, Delta and United elites and decided to go through the status matching process.  Before you do your own status match, read Frequent Miler’s post to learn about the benefits and requirements to keep the status for longer than 3 months.  Here is my experience matching from Alaska Airlines MVP elite status to JetBlue Mosaic 1 elite status (that is the only airline elite status I currently have).  I went to the Match to Mosaic page and clicked on the Apply Now button.

The survey link is not on the JetBlue website, which seemed a little strange, but I kept going.  I filled out the survey on my phone, I uploaded a screenshot of my Alaska Airlines elite status, and then I waited for a response to my application.

The following morning, on August 21, I received an email response that JetBlue could not process my status match.  Unfortunately, the screenshot I uploaded from my phone did not show all the requirements (full name, current elite member status, year to date (YTD) qualification process, and loyalty program number).  I clicked the link in the email and resubmitted my status match application on the computer.

I made sure the screen grab I used from the Alaska Airlines website showed all the necessary elite status requirements.

A few hours later, on August 21, I received another email from JetBlue that my status match application was successful.  The email said “please allow up to 4 weeks for processing,” so I set a calendar reminder to check my JetBlue account 4 weeks later.

2 days later, on August 23, I got a notification from AwardWallet that my JetBlue status was upgraded to Mosaic 1 elite status and that I received 5,000 bonus JetBlue points.  I logged into my JetBlue account, went to the My Dashboard tab, and saw that my status was upgraded to Mosaic 1 elite status and that the status would end on November 23 (which is 3 months from today).  I currently have a Barclays JetBlue Plus Credit Card, but I don’t think that made any difference in the speed of processing my status match.  Also, I only earned 1 JetBlue Tile from completing the minimum spending requirement on the JetBlue credit card.  Normally, you need to earn 50 JetBlue Tiles to reach Mosaic 1 elite status.

On the My Perks tab, all 11 Perks were automatically selected for me, which includes:

  • 5,000-Point Bonus
  • JetBlue Vacations Bonus
  • Priority Security
  • First 2 Checked Bags Free
  • Dedicated Check-In
  • Mosaic Boarding
  • Dedicated Support Line
  • Even More Space at Check-In
  • Same-Day Switches
  • Beer, Wine & Liquor
  • Mint Suite Priority

On the My Activity tab, all the Perks were unlocked and loaded to my account.  I wasn’t expecting to get 5,000 bonus JetBlue points (I didn’t see that listed anywhere as a benefit), but I will gladly accept the points.  I am hoping I will be able to use the Even More Space at Check-In, the free alcohol, and early boarding benefits before my status expires in 3 months.

I have no plans to complete the requirements to extend the Mosaic 1 status mostly because I don’t want to spend $1,000 on JetBlue flights or spend $10,000 on the JetBlue credit card and because JetBlue only has flights from San Francisco to BOS, JFK, and FLL.  If you have any questions about the status matching process, please leave a comment below.  Have a great weekend everyone!

I find the Priority Pass iOS app shows very clear counts for my ‘Visits Remaining’, ‘Visits Used’, and ‘Visits Pending’ on the ‘Account’ tab. It’s interesting that the web interface is different, and they make you have to do the math.

Hi David, you’re right, the Priority Pass app makes it very clear. It says My Entitlement: 6 Visits Remaining, 2 Visits Used. Strangely, when I click on Visit History, it doesn’t show my previous visit. Does that section work for you?
