Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. A few days ago, Laura received her new Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card and added it to our shared DoorDash account. Moments later, there was a message that popped up asking if we would like to enroll in a free DoorDash DashPass membership. I am looking forward to taking advantage of the $10 monthly discount on groceries and retail, along with the other benefits of the membership.
Surprisingly or unsurprisingly, DoorDash forgot to mention that you can buy eGift Cards (eGCs) through DoorDash and get a discount. Let me show you how.
In the DoorDash app, click on the Shopping tab on the bottom, then search for gift card, and select Gift Card Store.
The Gift Card Store says there are year-round savings where DashPass members can save 10% on eGCs. This DashPass promo is valid for 10% off eGCs, up to $20 per purchase, and valid through 5/31/25. This specific promo says the 10% discount is limited to 10 eGCs per person. You can buy a $200 eGC for $180 and do that up to 10 times by 5/31/25. That would be a total savings of up to $200 on 10 eGCs purchased.
I decided to buy a Zillions Gift Card. Here are 4 specific Zillions Gift Cards that work with different retailers. Amazon is included on all 4 eGCs.
I decided to go with this Zillions Gift Card (light blue banner with blue ribbon) for $200. I was feeling generous, so I sent the eGC to myself.
On the Checkout screen, the 10% discount ($20 discount) automatically applied, bringing my total down to $180. On the Deals section, you can see all available deals and select the one you want to use. Back on the Checkout screen, the default payment option was the CSP, but I switched to ApplePay so I could use my US Bank Altitude Reserve and earn 4.5% cash back.
My payment was successful and my $200 Zillions Gift Card was processed,
A minute later, I received this email from DoorDash with a link to view my $200 eGC.
On the Zillions Gift Card website, there is this subset of GC brands available.
But the actual number of Zillions Gift Card brands available is much larger, at around 180 brands.
I selected a $200 Chipotle eGC and the email from Zillions arrived right away.

You’re welcome. That was the first time I bought a Zillions Gift Card. It works very similarly to the other multi brand eGCs.
How do you get access to the 180 brands? Isn’t each GC specific to only the brands listed on it?
If you left your form of payment set to your CSP, would you get another $10 off of one GC for your monthly DoorDash retail credit?
The standard Zillions Gift Card allows you to exchange the value of that GC into a GC with one of the 180 brands available.
The CSP $10 discount did not show up at checkout, so I switched to ApplePay with US Bank Altitude Reserve. The Gift Card Shop might not be an eligible merchant / category for the $10 DoorDash credit. I wish it counted.
