IHG Flash Sale: 100% Bonus on Purchased Points (Expires December 21)

The bonus season continues! IHG Rewards Club just announced a flash sale on IHG points and the offer ends tomorrow, December 21. I’m a new Chase IHG Rewards Credit Card holder, so these kinds of sales definitely get my attention. A 100% bonus on at least 25,000 points purchased… yes, thank you! You’ll recall that I got matched to the better Chase IHG Rewards Credit Card offer when I sent Chase a Secure Message (SM), and then I got some great ideas from you all about which IHG properties to use my points at. I’m done meeting my minimum spending on that credit card. Between those points and flash sales on IHG points like this one, I’m all set to make next year an IHG one!

Part 3: My Hyatt Concierge Saga Conclusion

Looks like this is the third and final part of my Hyatt Concierge story. You might recall that the last time I contacted Hyatt, I requested a new concierge and was told someone from upper management would contact me. This past Wednesday evening, I received a call from Hyatt. The initial call didn’t go so well.

I spoke with Anna, whose title is Service Community Lead, and she assured me she was indeed a manager. I could tell from what she said that she hadn’t looked at any of the email exchanges I had with my concierge. I found this weird. Except for what the supervisor I spoke with in my previous call told her, she really did not know what had happened and why my frustration led me to request a new concierge. Maybe it’s me, but this made no sense. How do you resolve something without knowing what happened? And she hadn’t spoken to my concierge, who is one of her team members. I respectfully requested that she review the email exchange between my concierge and me. Anna agreed and said she’d call me back in an hour. Continue reading

Review: Taste of India Gift Box from the World of Hyatt

Did you catch the offer from World of Hyatt called Try The World? Hyatt wants to “connect us to the people, places and experiences at the heart of our world.” Their Try The World concept involves a “box of the month” filled with foods and ingredients from all across a specific country. I decided to give this Try The World a go, and ordered the first three boxes. The total cost was $105, so that’s $35 a box. I’ve never subscribed to a box of the month club before!

For the first month, the country Hyatt chose was France (read the gift box review here). The second country Hyatt chose was Turkey (read the gift box review here). When I opened this month’s box featuring India, I realized I still really loved the box the goodies arrived in. I love the colors, the creative artwork, and the packaging. All very stylish and classy. The box came with a large fold-out card that talked about the chef that put these items together and the card also explained each product.

(Reposted 12/18: 1 Week Before Christmas) My Top 10 Best Holiday Gifts for Travelers

Updated 12/18 at 8am PT: Reposting this if you need gift ideas for the travelers in your life. Most items are shipped by Amazon Prime, so you should get everything before Christmas. Thank you and happy holidays.

Not a day goes by when I don’t receive questions about my travels. What products do I use? What travel gear I own and how I stay so healthy logging all those miles each year? Last year, I put a list together and people have requested I do it again this year, so here it is. I’ve made some changes! I hope you’ll find it useful for giving gifts or receiving gifts! If you have any questions, be sure to let me know.

1. Q-Link Pendant: $39.95

Maybe you’ve never heard of Q-Link. But I’m certain you’ve become aware of how electromagnetic fields affect our health and well-being. I’ve actually been wearing a Q-Link for twenty years already and never travel without it. You’ve probably seen it around my neck and never knew what it was. The pendant helps your human energy field function more efficiently, strengthening its resilience and resistance to the effects of stress. Get it on Amazon.

WiFi on Airplanes: Here’s a Great Guide for the Best Deals!

With the holidays around the corner, many of us will be on an airplane going somewhere! But even during the rest of the year, using WiFi on airplanes can come in handy. Are you familiar with how to get the best deals for WiFi with each of the major airlines? I wasn’t, so I went looking for some information and want to share what I found. Sure, we might know about Gogo, which provides inflight WiFi to Alaska, American, Delta, and United, but there are other internet providers as well. And some airlines don’t yet offer WiFi. It can be confusing! Here’s the best guide I’ve seen that breaks it all down for us. Check it out!
