Staples Easy Rebate: Purchase $300 in MasterCard Gift Cards and Receive $20 Staples Gift Card

Good morning everyone, here is another nice gift card promo from Staples.  This week, the promo is for $250 in Visa Gift Cards, next week, the promo is for $300 in MasterCard Gift Cards.  The rebate is in the form of a $20 Staples Gift Card, which is not as good as a Visa Gift Card.  Only one rebate per household, so get creative.

Buy $300 MasterCard Gift Cards Staples Promo

This promo does not begin until Sunday, March 22, so don’t go out shopping just yet.  To see the details of the promo, click here.

MSing responsibly: since this offer is only for $300 in MasterCard Gift Cards, most people will probably purchase 2 $200 MasterCard Gift Cards, if available.  If I normally purchase $1,000 in gift cards a week at office supply stores, I would buy $400 worth of gift cards at Staples and then the other $600 worth of gift cards at Office Depot or Office Max, that way I leave some gift cards for others.  I know some of you will disagree with me, but that is how I MS responsibly.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Don’t intend to state the obvious, but consumers should note this is a $300 MC purchase beginning Sunday as opposed to this week’s $250 VISA promo, and the rebate is in the form of a Staples gift card. My store does not accept those for other gift card purchases.

If you really don’t buy anything at staples, you can always sell the $20 staples gift card online for about $17 to a gift card site.

Easier if there’s a working kiosk.
If you’re doing it at the register, you better hit that change payment button quick.

        Thank you.
Unfortunately no kiosk in my area.
The changing payment method makes me really nervous. I had a bad experience last year…

Unless you have a ton of addresses it’s a little more effort to do the rebate more than 2-3 times (Home, Work, Parent’s Home, Friend’s Homes?) so I like the “1 rebate per person/household/address” cap. My Staples was full of $200 gift cards for more than 3 days as I sent my friends in to help introduce them to the MSing world. One of them had just gotten her first ever Chase Ink Plus. :) I personally only did the rebate once, for my own address.

I don’t think I’ll bother with the Staples GC since I don’t usually do the paper deals and don’t really have anything else to buy at office supply stores since I only use office supplies at work, and the company will pay for those things. At home, I’m all digital. :)

Like most folks, I shy away from the MC gift cards because of the potential unloading problems. But if you find a working Kate machine at Walmart, these always work without issue there? Otherwise, I guess it’s the “change payment” trick. Any problems just bringing them to a Target and loading them onto Target Redcard or Target AMEX?

Family Dollar may be your solution!

I dared to purchase the MC gift cards for the first time for this Staples’ promotion.
To avoid potential embarrassment, I decided to unload them at Walmart away from home while I was on the road.

The first WMT I visited had no Kate and was so busy that made me so nervous that I couldn’t try at cashers.
Next day, I decided to visit a Family Dollar next town. I haven’t used FD for a while since I had a problem with unloading at my local store.
I was a little bit anxious but the casher knew how to do it. So, everything went smoothly, and I unloaded $200 to my Serve.

Then I saw a Walmart nearby and decided to look. I was so excited to found a Kate inside. This was my first Kate! But, I couldn’t unload a MCGC to my Serve… The machine kept asking me to enter my PIN again and again and again… I had to leave before I got in trouble.

I thought to go back to the FD next day, but found another FD on the way back to my hotel and gave it a shot.
Voilà! I unloaded another $200 of MCGC without breaking a sweat.

So, my conclusion is that the FD is my best bet to unload MCGC to the Serve.
