FTU San Diego Meetup for Saturday Night (March 7) at Tacos El Gordo

Good afternoon everyone from the beautiful Holiday Inn Express Old Town San Diego!  I flew down to San Diego a day early, but tomorrow I will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay where the Frequent Traveler University (FTU) in San Diego will be held.  During the big travel conferences, it is customary/mandatory to meetup Saturday night and go out to dinner.

I have heard many great things about Tacos El Gordo and have decided to check it out.  The score on Yelp is 4.5 stars with 1,635 reviews.  If they awarded Michelin Stars for Mexican food, this place would surely be 3-star-worthy.   (Insert a joke about meatup instead of meetup.)

I am planning on meeting up in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency at 6:30pm on Saturday night (March 7).  We will be Uber-ing and carpooling to the restaurant.  I would definitely appreciate if some of the locals would be able to offer rides to the out-of-towners.  We will then drive to Tacos El Gordo (make sure you go to this location):

689 H St, Chula Vista, CA 91910 (Google Map)

If you are not attending the FTU but are in the San Diego area, feel free to meet us at the restaurant.  We should get there around 7pm, if traffic cooperates.  After dinner, we will all head back to the Hyatt Regency.

If you are interested in attending, please let me know.  We will be leaving shortly after 6:30pm so don’t be late to the Hyatt Regency lobby if you want a ride to the restaurant.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Wish I could be there. My favorite tacos are the lamb tacos at Aqui es Texcoco in Chula Vista. Definitely worth trying.

I was able to score a ticket to FTU, so I’ll see you on Saturday. I was planning for Tacos el Gordo either way!
