Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. Yesterday, my dad asked me about his Hyatt Free Night Certificate (FNC). He told me he just booked a Hyatt stay using the FNC but wasn’t sure if he got a good deal on the hotel stay. I asked him when the FNC expired, but he didn’t know or remember. I told him how to figure out when the Hyatt FNC posted to his account and how to find out when the FNC expired. I figured this post would be helpful to others who are in the same situation. It is really easy to find out, here is how.
Figure out when your $95 annual fee is charged to your Chase World of Hyatt Credit Card. For Laura’s card, her $95 annual fee posted on February 1, 2025. You can find this charge using the Chase website, Chase app, or by looking at your credit card statements.
Unlike most hotel credit cards that post their FNC the prior month or same month as your annual fee, Hyatt FNCs post 2 months after the annual fee is charged (and paid for). For Laura’s account, since her $95 annual fee was charged on February 1, 2025, her Hyatt FNC posted to her Hyatt account on April 1, 2025. You can see the FNC by logging into your Hyatt account and going to the Award section (link). The Hyatt FNC is valid for 12 months, so it expires on April 1, 2026. Therefore, if you know when your annual fee will post, you can calculate when your FNC will post (2 months later) and when your FNC will expire (12 months after that).
Last but not least, here are the terms and conditions of the Hyatt FNC. You can use them for a category 1-4 Hyatt hotel, but not at properties classified as category 5 or those included in the category 1-8 award chart (all inclusive properties).
I hope the math is easy and you are able to find out when your Hyatt FNC will post and will it expire. If you have any questions about Hyatt FNCs or other hotel FNCs, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
