eGifter Promo: Purchase $100 eBay Gift Card & Receive Free $10 Bonus Card (11/19-11/26)

Good morning everyone.  I just received an email from eGifter this morning for an eBay gift card promo.  When you purchase an eBay gift card of $100 or more, you will get a free $10 bonus card (link).  This offer is only available from November 19-26, or until supplies last.

Egifter $100 Ebay Gift CardI’m not 100% sure if the bonus card is a $10 eBay gift card or a $10 eGift gift card.  I’m assuming it is a $10 eBay gift card, but I don’t know for sure.

Unintended Consequences: Frozen PayPal Account Blocks eBay Bucks Redemption

Good morning everyone.  A friend of mine sent me an email that his PayPal account was frozen (I didn’t ask why, but I believe it was related to loading PayPal My Cash Cards to his PayPal account).  To add insult to injury, he had $200 in eBay Bucks that were set to expire next week.  If you are unfamiliar with how to redeem eBay Bucks, you must log into your PayPal account to confirm payment, even if your eBay Bucks balance covers the full purchase price.  Long story short, since his PayPal account was frozen, he could not redeem his $200 in eBay Bucks that were expiring next week.

He reached out to me and we brainstormed possible solutions for ways to spend his eBay Bucks.  I had an idea that I could log into his eBay account and use his eBay Bucks by logging into my (unfrozen) PayPal account.  We then brainstormed things to buy on eBay to redeem his eBay Bucks.  His first thought was to buy eBay gift cards, but I told him that in order to redeem eBay gift cards, you need to log into your PayPal account.  That would put him back in the same situation he is in now.  I thought about buying Amazon gift cards and he agreed with my plan.

After I logged into his eBay account, I found a few Amazon gift cards that added up close to $200.  Side note: Amazon gift cards are the only gift cards on eBay that often sell for more than face value (around 8-15% above face value).  The sellers know that people willingly pay more than face value for Amazon gift cards, so they can charge higher prices.

How to Find Hidden eBay Gift Cards in your PayPal Account

Good afternoon everyone, I buy a lot of items on Ebay and use a lot of Ebay gift cards to pay for those items.  With Frequent Miler’s recent post regarding Ebay gift cards and Doctor of Credit’s recent post about Ebay shopping portals, I thought it would be a good idea to show you where to find your unused Ebay gift cards.  I will show you where to look when you log into your PayPal account from a desktop computer and from the Ebay app on your smartphone.

Log into your PayPal account from your desktop computer and click the Wallet tab at the top of the screen.

How much are 2 United Club Passes Worth?  $29.99

A generous reader of mine (Thanks B) sent me 2 United Club passes that he did not need need with the instruction to sell them on Ebay.  Previously, I have sold a few United Club passes that I have received for having my Chase United credit card.  Since I have the American Express Platinum and Priority Pass club access, I really don’t visit too many United lounges.  If you are like me, you can get around $30 on Ebay for selling 2 passes.  This can be a great way to get a few extra bucks if you have passes expiring soon that you do not have uses for.

To see how fast I could sell the United Club passes, I listed them for $29.99 Buy It Now on Ebay (link) at 6:30PM today and had them sold and paid for before 9:00PM PST.  It really is that simple.  Here is the title I used:

That’s all it takes.  If you have any questions, please let me know.  Have a great night!

Permanently Block Ebay Bidders for Future Auctions / Buy It Now Listings

Ok, it happens, even to the best of us.  You sold an item on Ebay, you did everything right, but now the buyer or high bidder does not pay.  I’ve been selling on Ebay for 9+ years, so I have heard every excuse in the book.  At the end of the day, you don’t get paid.  As a seller, I don’t have time to deal with non-paying bidders (NPB), so if you screw me once, I block you for life.

That doesn’t mean I don’t have a heart.  If a buyer has a legitimate reason for not paying (purchase 2 items instead of 1 item by mistake or bought the wrong size/color), I will give them a break.  But the steps below are for those bidders/buyers who do not pay and do not communicate or respond to emails.  So here is how to block them from ever bidding/buying an item from you in the future.  Copy the username of the NPD and scroll to the bottom of any Ebay page and click on the Site Map link.

I realized that there were a few other interesting topics I could talk about on Ebay such as how to cancel bids placed on current auctions as well as retracting bids you places on other auctions “by mistake.”  I am working on a post on how to sell gift cards to CardPool (I have 5 x $250 Bloomingdales gift cards and a $200 Office Depot gift card that I need to sell).  Post “coming soon” (maybe).
