Good evening everyone. A few days ago, my US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card statement closed and as I was looking through my statement, I noticed a $25 cash bonus listed in the rewards section. Similar to finding money in your back pocket, I was immediately excited. Where did this $25 come from? Why was it given to me? I tried to rack my brain, but couldn’t remember.
I dug a little deeper and looked at the My Rewards section of my US Bank online account. Again, there was no helpful information.
After a quick Google search, I found a Doctor of Credit post: Get $25 Cash Back by Making $75 in Amazon Purchases with U.S. Bank Credit Cards. This sounded promising because I do have several US Bank credit cards and this looked like an easy $25 money maker. All I had to do was make 3 purchases of $25 or more on Amazon to earn $25 cash back. How simple is that?
I then looked over my recent US Bank Cash Plus Credit Card statements and found that I did make 3 $25 Amazon purchases (all Amazon egift card purchases) in early April. Looking back at the above Doctor of Credit post, the terms of the bonus stated, “The $25 statement credit will be applied to your card account within 10-12 weeks after the end of the promotion period.” The promotion ended on May 31, so the 10-12 week mark is August 9-23. Thank you for not making me wait the full 10-12 weeks.
Long story short, if you were targeted for the $25 bonus and made 3 $25 Amazon purchases, you should receive your $25 bonus soon, if you haven’t already. I just wish US Bank would make the bonuses much easier to identify. Around the same time as this bonus, US Bank had another bonus with PayPal, that I wrote about here: Targeted Q2 Credit Card Offers Part 2: 10,000 JetBlue TrueBlue Points & US Bank Club Carlson $25 Statement Credit. I participated in that bonus, so that $25 statement credit should post to my credit card statement soon.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great evening everyone!
I am rarely targeted.
Even my wife avoids me… :(
I’m sorry Billy :(
I recently received the $25 bonus as well, and I received it for redeeming over $100 of rewards. I am a little sketched out by it not knowing if there are any strings attached to spending it or if it is just used as a gift card. Did you find any additional information?
No, sorry. If it posted to your account, you should be able to spend it without worry.
