$20 Statement Credit Posted Quickly for Chase Hyatt Credit Card / Whole Foods Market Promo

Good evening everyone.  A few days ago, Chase Hyatt Credit Card holders were sent a promotional email where they could earn a $20 statement credit by enrolling in the promo and spending $50 or more at Whole Foods Market with their Chase Hyatt Credit Card.  The promo was pretty simple and seemed like an easy $20.  I made a qualifying purchase in-store and received the $20 statement credit a few days later.

Here are the complete terms and conditions of the promo:

Register before using your Hyatt Credit Card to shop at any Whole Foods Market in the U.S. and get a $20 statement credit for spending $50 or more in a single purchase at Whole Foods with your Hyatt Credit Card between August 14, 2017 to September 25, 2017. Allow approximately 5-10 days to receive your statement credit, subject to card issuer’s timing and processing of statement credit. Available at Whole Foods Market stores in the U.S. Purchases at stores not correctly classified as a Whole Foods location for credit card processing will not qualify for this offer. Offer not available for online purchases or purchases made through Instacart. Limit one offer redemption per card. Terms of Service: We sent you this email because we have your email address designated as eligible to receive promotions and special offers. We value your privacy and will only use your information in accordance with our Global Privacy Policy available at privacy.hyatt.com

My girlfriend and I had a BBQ over the weekend, so we stopped at her local Whole Foods Market and bought $50.22 of groceries (we cut it close, I know).  The purchase was made on August 23 and posted to my Chase Hyatt Credit Card on August 24.  The $20 statement credit posted on August 27 and was coded as a return, instead of a payment, which means I will earn 20 less Hyatt points.  I hope we see more statement credit promotions like this on other Chase credit cards.

My local grocery store in San Francisco is a Trader Joe’s, so I don’t go to Whole Foods Market very much. Prices seemed lower than I expected though.

For the things that I normally buy there, the prices were the same. In the case of sweet potatoes, they were 50 cents MORE per pound. There were certain things on sale, like eggs and avocados, that were significantly less but overall I didn’t see much a difference. For packaged goods like dry beans and grains, they are still way higher than Kroger. Amazon sure got a lot of free publicity touting about a dozen items they were discounting. I think all stores do that, they are called “lost leaders” to get you in the store.

    Hi Grant,
Since we live in the same area, I hope you had your Hyatt Visa enrolled in uber local offers which would have netted you an additional $5 in uber credit. That wf is part of the program

I am enrolled in Uber Local Offers, but I went to a Whole Foods Market up in Petaluma and I don’t have my Chase Hyatt CC linked to my Uber account :(

Nice, I was considering buying GCs for this deal, but ended up buying groceries instead. Glad to hear the statement credit posted ~5 days later for you too.
