Upgraded JPMorgan Chase Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite Credit Card $300 Annual Travel Credit for 2019 Still Available

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and any other holiday in between that I missed.  A few weeks ago, I wrote Why Did I Upgrade my Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Visa Signature to JPMorgan Chase Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite?  In that post, I went through all the card benefits and explained why this card was interesting to me.  One of the key features of this card is the $300 annual travel credit.  Accord to the terms and condition, the $300 Annual Travel Credit can be used for the following purchases, “airline lounge day pass, or towards a yearly lounge membership of your choice; airline seat upgrades; airline baggage fees; in-flight Internet/entertainment; in-flight meals.”

Since I still had a few weeks left in the year, I called JPMorgan Chase and asked if the $300 annual travel credit was available to me since I recently upgraded from the Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card.  The rep said yes and listed the same qualifying purchases as above.  I started thinking about my upcoming trips to see if I could pay for airline seat upgrades on any of my flights…

I have an upcoming trip to Ireland with Laura that I wrote about a few months ago: How to Book Aer Lingus Award Tickets with British Airways Avios (Call BA to Save $100+ on Taxes & Fees).  Since those flights are in economy, I decided to pay for seat upgrades to get more legroom and earlier boarding.  I called Aer Lingus to purchase the seat upgrades and the total cost for the seat upgrades came to $359.96 ($89.99 per seat).

After the purchase posted to my card, I called JPMorgan Chase and asked to apply my $300 annual travel credit toward the seat upgrades.  The rep was very helpful and processed my request.  He said that the $300 credit should post in 1-2 billing cycles, but said it usually posts in 1-2 business days.  The $300 credit posted 1-2 days after the call.

Here are the 2 transactions that show the $359.96 seat upgrade charge and the $300 travel credit.

Starting on January 1, 2020, I will have access to another $300 annual travel credit.  I plan to bring my JPMorgan Chase Ritz Carlton Visa Infinite Credit Card with me on my upcoming trips and will use it where necessary for checked bag fees, seat upgrades, and in-flight meal purchases.  If you have any questions about the $300 annual travel credit, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Did upgrading your card push back receiving the free night award for another 12 months or did they keep your same anniversary date?

Great — just product changed to the card, so should be able to get in the $300 before year’s end. Thanks, Grant

Those charges will work. Have a great flight. I’m planning a trip to BOS and NYC this summer, but probably flying JetBlue Mint from SFO to BOS and then AA from LGA-DFW-SNA.
