Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well. Last Saturday, Bank of America celebrated More Rewards Day by offering cardmembers an extra 2% cash back (or an extra 2x miles) on all purchases made on November 5. Doctor of Credit has more details about the promo. I recently applied for the Bank of America Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Credit Card that was offering $500 cash back after spending $5,000 in 3 months. I had to make some tax payments in November, so I waited until November 5 to make the payment and complete the $5,000 minimum spending requirement. In this post, I will show you how to see your extra cash back from More Rewards Day.
To get started, sign into your Bank of America online account and click on the account that you used to make your purchases. In my case, I clicked on the Corporate Account for my Bank of America Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards. (For the record, I am not a fan of the way Bank of America has credit card accounts and corporate accounts for the same business, but that’s a pet peeve for another day.)
Under the Rewards header, click on the View/Redeem link.
You will then see your transactions. You may need to adjust the display to see all your transactions.
Click the BONUS link next to each transaction to see details of the More Rewards Day bonus. As you can see, my first purchase earned 1.5% cash back ($4,962.19 x 1.5% = $74.43) + the More Rewards Day 2% cash back bonus ($4,962.19 x 2% = $99.24).
Lastly, you can redeem your cash back as a deposit to your Bank of America checking account (if you have one), a statement credit on your credit card, or as a personal check mailed to you.
If you made purchases with an airline credit card, like the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Business Credit Card, you won’t be able to see your rewards on the Bank of America website, you will need to check on the airline’s website.
As you can see, when you go to the Rewards header and click the View Reward Details link…
There will be a message that takes you to the airline’s website. I am not sure if the miles will show up right away, but you may have to wait for your credit card statement to close to see the bonus miles in your airline account.
I enjoyed Bank of America’s More Rewards Day and look forward to the next one (hopefully we will see a few throughout the year). If you have any questions about the promo or where to see your bonus cash back, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
Its a scam. Not everyone got Cashback for purchases made on the 5th.
Hi Donald, I made my purchase around 6am PT on 11/5. The purchase didn’t post until later on, but I still earned the bonus 2% cash back. When did you make your purchases?
My first was about that time because it was from Starbucks. And then the rest as the day went on. Definitely no later than 8 or 9 pm. They are All posted as the 7th.
6 out my 7 charges from the 5th processed correctly. The one transaction that did not process correctly must have been the date the the merchant used when processing the transaction.
I’m sure Bank of America will fix the issue, just give them time to identify the qualifying transactions that did not earn the bonus 2% cash back. We should see the fix in the coming week.
Unless you have information direct from BofA, I am not optimistic on the 1 charge that did not post the extra 2%. Time will tell.
I have no information, just optimism that it will all work out.
Not optimistic here as well as I’ve already contacted them via Twitter and was told basically this is how they post.
if the merchant does not process the traction on the same day as the authorization then you will not receive the extra 2%. If BofA offers the 2% extra again, they need to honor the authorization date. But I was successful on 6 out of 7 transactions.
I don’t think most merchants process transactions on the same day, especially on the weekend. I’m glad 6 of your 7 transactions worked, sorry the last transaction did not post properly.
My Alaska biz card didn’t get the extra 2x for the transaction on 11/05 in the new statement :( .
That’s disappointing. Did you reach out to BofA to see if they can manually give you the missing miles?
My alaska biz did not post either. Looks like a couple others as well on FT https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/credit-card-programs/2099080-b-bonus-day-no-registration-necessary.html. Guessing it’s a widespread issue. All other cards posted correctly including personal alaska.
Seems like a widespread issue, hopefully BofA will resolve the issue, but it may not be fixed right away.
My 2 Alaska biz cards didn’t get the extra 2x for the transaction on 11/05 in the new statement either
Hi Steph, that is disappointing. I’m hoping your bonus points post on your next statement.
