4 Amazing Things to See & Do on Kauai

Kauai is called the “Garden Isle” because it’s lush and full of natural beauty. It’s geologically the oldest of the main Hawaiian Islands and fourth largest in size. It seems to be the favorite island of people who visit Hawaii, and I believe the natural beauty is what ranks it so highly. My cousins are celebrating a very special wedding anniversary and flying from the East Coast to Kauai. Having lived in Hawaii, though not on Kauai, I have been a frequent visitor to the Garden Isle, so I was happy to suggest some of my favorite beautiful sites to see. I suggested four that would not only showcase Kauai’s beauty, but also take them to different parts of the island, as well.

Wailua Falls Overlook is a two-tiered waterfall. Almost every time I’ve been there, I’ve seen a rainbow in the falls. Spotting rainbows are one of the magical sites in Hawaii, and I never grow tired of seeing them. Early morning at the falls is a nice quiet time, though certainly it’s a special site no matter when you go.

World of Hyatt Gift to Elites: 1 Suite Upgrade Award or 10,000 Hyatt Points?

Hyatt has been up to lots of good these past few months. First they settled the issues I was having with my World of Hyatt concierge, and I’m thrilled to report my new concierge is great! Then World of Hyatt announced that free nights on award stays would count towards elite status. OK, good news, indeed. And just like that, they retroactively combined my free nights from last year with my other eligible nights and gave me a gift. The announcement came one day, and then my email allowing me to actually choose came the following day. Though Hyatt gives you 90 days to make your choice, it took me about nine seconds, if that long. As a Globalist, I have plenty of suite upgrades available to me so thank you very much, I chose the 10,000 Hyatt points instead. So Hyatt starts off the year in our good graces, wouldn’t you agree? Anybody take the suite upgrade offer instead? Those suites can be really wonderful!

How to Watch the 2018 Winter Olympics

The last time I was in Seoul was in 2014. I had a fantastic stay at the Park Hyatt Seoul, and now that I think about it, maybe that was when I got hooked on the Park Hyatt experience. In 2014, Korea was just starting to build some venues for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I could have gone to see them, but they were in the early stages and I guess I was thinking, I’d be back in Korea before 2018. Well, the world is a big place, I haven’t had a chance to get back to Korea, and like most of you, I’m watching the 2018 Winter Olympics from my couch dreaming about bibimbap, Seoul style.

Here’s a great article I found about watching the 2018 Winter Olympics. It covers some questions I had about streaming and watching through virtual reality. Interesting read! Have an olympic sized weekend, everyone, and thanks for reading!

What Should I See at Singapore Changi Airport?

I don’t mind spending time in airports when they are fun to explore. And some airports, well I just can’t get on a plane and get out of them fast enough. Singapore Changi Airport has been rated the #1 airport since 2013. That’s quite an honor! I’ll be transiting through Changi Airport and will have some time to explore and hopefully see why it’s rated #1. Having never been there before, so I wanted to ask you all what you think I should see and enjoy while I’m at Changi. I’d appreciate any ideas, so let me know in the comments below. Thanks everyone!
