Good afternoon everyone, this is going to be a short post before I drive up through LA, Santa Barbara, and into Solvang (spending the night at the Holiday inn Express Solvang for Into the Nights promo) and then continuing up to Carmel/Monterrey Bay on Sunday morning.  Here are some interesting deals to think about over the weekend.  If you have a Chime Card (learn more here), you can score some great deal on groceries this week.  Chime has Kroger, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Safeway deals: spend $50 or more and get $10 cash back.  You can take advantage of all 4 grocery stores if you want, it is not limited to one store only.

Random News: Amazon AMEX Offer, 6,000 Bonus Hilton HHonors Points, Apple Pay at Walgreens, and Accidental Chime Card Hack

Good evening everyone, I know this offer was mentioned 10+ hours ago, but I wanted to make sure to share it: Amazon AMEX Offer provides a $15 statement credit after making a $15+ purchase on Amazon.  #freemoney.  Unfortunately, none of my AMEX cards have this offer, I guess AMEX doesn’t love me after all.  Shawn @ Miles to Memories received this offer on 6 out of 7 of his AMEX cards. #luckyguy

Thanks Whitney for the image.

In other credit card news, I received a targeted offer for my Citi Hilton HHonors Reserve Credit Card.  I can earn 2,000 bonus points for each stay until February 28, 2015, up to 6,000 points.  This offer is nothing special, but if you have this credit card, you should have received a similar (maybe better?) offer in your inbox.  Hilton Points are worth about 1/2 a cent, so this offer is a big yawn in my book.  Good deal if you had upcoming Hilton stays already planned though.

AMEX Offer Office Depot / Office Max Update, Free $5 Amazon Gift Card, and other Chime Card Offers

Good evening everyone, earlier this morning I posted the AMEX Offer for Office Depot / Office Max (link) where you would receive a $10 statement credit for a purchase of $50 or more on your enrolled AMEX card.

Office Depot Office Max AMEX Offer

Shortly after creating that post, I drove over to my local Office Depot store and bought 2 $200 Visa Gift Cards (you can only buy the fixed value cards at Office Depot, not the variable load cards that say $20-$500 in the corner).  I kindly asked the cashier if she should split the payment into multiple $50 payments and she agreed.  Splitting the payment was really easy, all you do is swipe your AMEX card, tell the cashier how much you want to charge (they will need to change the amount from the default full amount to $50), sign your name on the credit card reader, and repeat until all your AMEX cards have been used.  Immediately after every purchase, my iPhone received the AMEX alert and email confirmation.

New Citi American Airlines Executive Card with Admirals Club Logo

Good Thursday morning everyone, here are some random news articles for you.  Recently, I wrote about the newly redesigned Citi American Airlines Executive Credit Card (link) and commented on the fast that the new design did not have an Admirals Club logo on the card.  Over the weekend, I visited the Admirals Club in SFO and the front desk agent told me that Citi forgot to include the Admirals Club logo on some of their new Executive Cards.  I called Citi and they sent me a new card via FedEx Overnight.  Here is what the back of the card looks like with the Admirals Club logo in the upper right corner.  If you have the old-new Executive Card, you can call Citi and request a new-new Executive Card.

American Express is on a roll with their AMEX Offers.  I wrote about the new offers this week (post 1 and post 2) but apparently AMEX is still rolling out new offers.  The latest offer to grab my attention is the Marriott Hotels offer, spend $200+ and receive a $50 statement credit.
