Good morning everyone. A few months ago, I was talking to a few people at one of my Bay Area meetups and the idea of having a meetup at a Centurion Lounge came up. Since almost everyone at the meetup had an AMEX Platinum Card, it sounded like a fun adventure. I also spoke with Shawn @ Miles to Memories about having a meetup in Las Vegas (MGM penthouse anyone?). A few days ago, I found cheap flights from SFO to LAS for weekend travel in November. Since both SFO and LAS have Centurion Lounges, why not have 2 meetups in 2 Centurion Lounges on the same day? Without further ado, here is the first meetup.
SFO Centurion Lounge Meetup:
- Date: Saturday, November 7
- Time: 12-3pm
- Location: Centurion Lounge (Terminal 3, near Gate 74)
After that meetup ends, I will catch the 3:51pm JetBlue flight to Las Vegas. If you are interested in joining me in Las Vegas, the JetBlue flight is only $64 one way.
I will then make my way from the JetBlue flight to the other Centurion Lounge for dinner.
LAS Centurion Lounge Meetup:
- Date: Saturday, November 7
- Time: 6-9pm
- Location: Centurion Lounge (Concourse D, near Gate D1)
I don’t have anything planned for after the LAS Centurion Lounge meetup, but I will be leaving Las Vegas on Monday morning. I found a good Virgin America flight that leaves LAS at 7am and lands in SFO at 8:25am. I will then take BART into the city to get to work.
The flight is $105 on Virgin America’s website…
…or 4,226 Virgin America Elevate Points (miles). I converted a few AMEX Membership Reward Points into Virgin America Elevate Points and booked this return flight.
One thing to note about the SFO Centurion Lounge is that you can access the lounge if you are flying out of SFO that day, but it may be difficult to access if you are flying into SFO that day. Only the international terminal and Terminal 3 (Concourse E, F, and G) are connected. I believe the only domestic airline to fly into Terminal 3 is United. If you fly into another terminal, you will have to exit through security. On the other hand, the LAS Centurion Lounge can be accessed by any terminal, since they are all connected. You should not have any problem entering the Centurion Lounge if you are arriving in SFO or LAS, just show your boarding pass and AMEX Platinum Card.
It looks like every cardholder can bring in 2 additional guests for free, who wants to be my +1 and +2? First come, first serve.
What is the guest policy?
Centurion® Members and Platinum Card® Members who receive complimentary access may enter with up to two guests or immediate family (spouse or domestic partner, and children under 18) at no additional charge.
If you are interested in joining me at either or both meetups, please let me know. There is plenty of time to make flight arrangements if you want to come to San Francisco or Las Vegas for the weekend. I know this is a crazy idea, but I’m sure I am not the only crazy one out there with nothing better to do on a November weekend. If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone.
can you access Las lounge without flighing into or out of same day ??
You need to show a boarding pass for a flight arriving or departing LAS that day.
+1 Please!
…In Vegas.
You got it Bill.
Put me down as a +1 for SFO and LAS.
Btw, Southwest also has $64 tickets SFO-LAS that Saturday. I’ll use points to book their 3:45 nonstop.
You are my first +1 for SFO and my +2 for LAS. JetBlue flies out of the international terminal (according to http://san-francisco-sfo.worldairportguides.com/terminals.php), much easier to get to than SWA in Terminal 1.
Will security let us into Intl Terminal G or T3 with B6 or WN boarding passes?
Yes, just tell them you are going to the Centurion Lounge. They will let you enter.
which terminal SW fly out from LAS?
Terminal 1
Terminal 1 includes a 6,000-space parking garage, and a spacious terminal building that includes Ticketing/Check-in, Baggage Claim and the A, B, and C Gates. The D Gates satellite concourse is accessible from Terminal 1 via an automated transit system. Terminal 1 features a variety of shopping, dining, and services as well as three security checkpoints. All airlines operating at the A, B, C, and D Gates share one baggage claim located on Level 1 of Terminal 1.
Airlines
Allegiant
American
Delta
Omni
Southwest

US Airways
Thank you
Thanks Bill.
I’m not sure, but they are all connected by air trains.
I’m just as crazy as you guys, booked my sw tix :)
See you there!
Awesome! Are you going to both meetups?
yup!
Awesome, cya there. Do you know if Thong is coming too?
yeah he’ll be there
Awesome, glad to hear. What about the Fremont meetup next Saturday?
Fremont? I’ll probably be there :)
I would hope so. Have a great weekend.
I might be interested! I’ll see as it gets closer.
Awesome, hopefully you can make one of the meetups. You might want to buy refundable SWA flights now that flights are pretty cheap to both SFO and LAS. Have a great weekend.

So I’m commenting way late on the post, but I’ve recently starting reading your blog and came across this post. I’ll be joining for both the SFO and LAS meet ups – and this will be my first time checking out the LAS centurion lounge, so I’m even more excited!
Hi Matthew, excellent, I am looking forward to meeting you at the Centurion Lounges :)
Grant, can I be your +2 for the SFO meetup? Do you know if SFO requires you to have a boarding pass to get to the lounge? Thanks!
You need a boarding pass to get thru TSA, but you can be my plus 1 :)
