Instantly Combine or Transfer Club Carlson Points with a Simple Call

Good morning everyone, call me a procrastinator, but I just started booking my Club Carlson hotels last night.  I have 2 Club Carlson accounts (one linked to my US Bank Club Carlson Personal Credit Card and the other linked to my US Bank Club Carlson Business Credit Card).  After draining most of the points from one account, I decided to transfer all the points from one account to the other.  To get started, call the Club Carlson Member Services department at 1-888-288-8889 and press 5 for Member Services.  The office closes at 6PM Central Time, so don’t call too late.

After a brief 2-3 minute hold, a help representative was able to move Club Carlson points from my account to my other Club Carlson account.  This feature is free if you transfer points from one Gold Elite account to another Gold Elite account.  After the call was over, I logged out and logged back into my account to see if the transfer was complete.  The points transfer is instant.

I then logged into my other Club Carlson account and saw that the points had posted immediately and the current points balance was updated accordingly.

I also received a confirmation email with details of the transfer.  I am glad that the transfer of points is free and instant.  Time to book a few more hotel reservations before the May 31 / June 1 devaluation.

For the record, I booked hotel stays in Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Bergen (Norway).  I still need to book 2 more reservations later today.

Is there a reason that I missed in regards to why you said you have procrastinated doing this lol? By that I mean is there a devalue or something coming in regards to the points? Thanks for your info!

Yes, after May 31 / June 1, you will not be able to get the Club Carlson Last Night Free benefit. Meaning that all 2 night stays will cost double if booked after June 1. If you have Club Carlson points now, you should try to use them before June 1.

Ahhh, thank you, will have to give this some thought! I haven’t used my account for 5 years due to life changes, I appreciate you bringing this to my attention :)

Gotcha. After June 1, several hotels will change categories and go up in price, so you might want to book some hotel stays if you have any upcoming plans.

Grant, I went to the website for booking, is there a special code? I don’t see this promotion… Thanks!

The promo only works if you have a US Bank Club Carlson Credit Card. You will see the discount on the last page of the booking process.

@Kathy – you can have your husband call and transfer the points to your account. I went through this a few weeks ago. As Grant mentions, the office closes 6pm Central time, which meant I had to call them at 6:30am California time to get my wife on the phone with them and authorize the transfer.

Club Carlson will not transfer the points to your account unless they have authorization from your spouse to transfer points. Then, points transfer happens immediately.

Thank you Ric. I’m surprised that Club Carlson has such short business hours. All other hotel chains are open much later than 6pm CT.

How about a transfer from a silver elite to a gold elite? I was downgraded from Gold to Silver after the status match expired and my husband is Gold (from the credit card). My account is over 1 year old, his is less. Can I still transfer for free? We got in too late in the game, didn’t apply for the card til end of last year I believe. Now making speculative booking for next summer in Europe.

I believe if you’re gold, you can transfer to anyone, regardless of their status, no problem. If you’re not, the T&C says you can transfer to someone in your same household. You may need to prove it to them, but I doubt they are very strict on this policy. If you share a last name or refer to someone as your spouse or significant other, I’m guessing you’ll have no problems.
