Good morning everyone, I hope your weekend is off to a great start. I was boring last night and did a mini American Horror Story TV marathon (don’t watch that show if you get scared easily!). This morning, I was checking my credit card accounts and stumbled onto this promotion for my US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card. This offer might be targeted, but to see if are eligible for the promotion, click here (you will need to sign in or join the FlexPerks Promo page). Once you register for the promotion, you will earn 2,000 bonus FlexPoints (worth up to $40 in travel) when you spend $500 or more between November 1 and December 31. This is a pretty good and simple offer, so I will definitely participate. Only purchases made between November 1 and December 31 will count toward this promotion, so you will need to wait a few days.
If you have a different US Bank FlexPerks credit card, I do not believe you are eligible for this promotion, but there might be a similar promotion available to you. If you see a different promotion, please let me know in the comments section. Thank you.
Here are the promotion terms and conditions:
1 Promotion period is from November 1, 2016, through December 31, 2016. Registration deadline is December 31, 2016, at 11:00 p.m. CDT. Bonus based on net card purchases (purchases minus credits and returns) November 1 to December 31, 2016, at 11:00 p.m. CDT. Bonus FlexPoints will be awarded 8-10 weeks after the promotion ends on December 31, 2016, in the amount of 2,000 bonus FlexPoints. We will not award FlexPoints for Advances, Convenience Checks, Balance Transfers, Interest Charges and Fees, credit insurance charges, or transactions to fund certain prepaid card products. We reserve the right to adjust the number of FlexPoints for Purchases or to stop issuing FlexPoints for Purchases on the Account, upon notice to you. Your Account must remain open, have available credit and be current (no minimum payment past due) to qualify. This offer may not apply if your credit card has changed to a different type of card within the last 12 weeks or changes before additional points are applied.
If you are not a US Bank FlexPerks card holder, please consider using my refer-a-friend link and entering my FlexPoints number (400005503422). I will get 5,000 bonus FlexPoints when you are approved. I currently have the US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card (comes with 12 Gogo Wifi passes), but the US Bank FlexPerks Gold AMEX Credit Card has some really good earning rates (3x at restaurants and 2x at gas stations and grocery stores).
Here are the terms and conditions of the refer-a-friend bonus. Has anyone ever gotten a 1099 tax form from earning too many refer-a-friend bonuses?
1 The 5,000 Refer-a-Friend Bonus FlexPoints are credited to the referring Cardmember’s FlexPerks Rewards account 8 to 10 weeks after the referred new account is approved, activated and used to make a purchase. The Refer-a-Friend Bonus cannot be earned by referring yourself, a current Cardmember or a previous Cardmember who has closed and re-opened his/her account. Accounts must be open and in good standing to receive bonus FlexPoints. There can only be one sponsor per referred applicant. Due to confidentiality, sponsors cannot be notified, either in writing or by phone, as to which referrals have been approved for a FlexPerks Card. Offer is subject to credit approval. This offer may not be combined with any other enrollment offer, and is non-transferable and may not be requested. Should U.S. Bank determine that the FlexPoints you receive constitute reportable income, their value will be reported to you and the IRS on Form 1099. You are responsible for any federal or state taxes owed on the FlexPoints Bonus. Consult your tax adviser should you have questions about the taxability of this promotion.
I don’t spend that much money on my US Bank FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card, but I do participate in almost all of the FlexPoints promotions for bonus points and have earned 8,000 FlexPoints (worth up to $160 in travel).
If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great weekend everyone!
