Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well. Yesterday, I wrote about My Las Vegas Casino Status Matches: Caesars Diamond > Wynn Platinum > Fontainebleau Gold > MGM Gold > Unity by Hard Rock Icon. In today’s post, I will cover riding the Las Vegas Monorail, getting 20% off Cirque du Soleil tickets, using InKind and Resy credits for the same restaurant, and redeeming 60,000 Caesars Rewards Points toward my paid hotel stay at the Paris Las Vegas.
Las Vegas Monorail (save more with multi trip passes)
After walking from the Paris Las Vegas up to the Fontainebleau, we didn’t want to walk all the way back, so we decided to take the Las Vegas Monorail back to our hotel. Since we had dinner reservations back at Don’s Prime (inside the Fontainebleau) in a few hours, we decided to get a 1 Day Pass (unlimited rides within 24 hours) for $15 / ticket. It was about a 13-15 minute walk from the Fontainebleau to the Westgate Monorail Station, then only a 10-12 minute ride back to the Paris Las Vegas. If you have a prepaid commuter debit card, you can use it on the Las Vegas Monorail.
Show Your Ticket & Save (discounts to many Las Vegas activities)
While I rode the Monorail, I saw a QR code above the windows that said Show Your Ticket & Save.

When you click through to the offer from the Monorail website, you are booking directly and should receive the stated discount amount. You can try going through an online shopping portal to see if your order will stack. I earned 5x Citi ThankYou Points with my Citi Custom Cash since the purchase coded as Live Entertainment.
For most Cirque du Soleil shows, there are 3 main sections for the tickets: lower orchestra, upper orchestra, and balcony. Generally speaking, the upper orchestra has the best views since you are close enough to the action, but do not need to tilt you head way up to see all the action happening in the air. Depending on the venue, the center of the stage will have the best view, but some shows have 360 degree seating.
InKind & Resy Credit (stack to pay for most of your meal)
In December 2023, I wrote about 2 InKind restaurants I ate at in Las Vegas (Cafe Hollywood in Planet Hollywood and Citizens Kitchen and Bar in Mandalay Bay). For our May 2024 visit, we stayed at the Paris Las Vegas. which is right next door to Planet Hollywood, so we went back to Cafe Hollywood for a late breakfast / brunch at 10am. I had the Chicken and Waffles and Laura had the Western Omelet – both were pretty good. I was able to pay the entire bill with my existing InKind credit and paid the tip with a credit card through Apple Pay.
The next morning, we had another late breakfast / brunch at 10:30am at Chica Las Vegas in the Venetian. This restaurant participates with both InKind and Resy, so I was able to use my $10 Resy credit from my American Express Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card. I didn’t reserve a table via the Resy app, we just showed up for breakfast and were seated a minute later. At checkout, I paid the bill with my existing InKind credit and paid the tip with my Platinum Delta Business credit card through Apple Pay. Laura had the Breakfast Burrito and I had the Dulce de Leche French Toast along with Tropical Fruit Plate side. The French Toast was delicious, especially if you have a sweet tooth like me.
Using 60,000 Caesars Rewards Points to Pay for my Hotel Stay (and pay no taxes)
As a reminder, I transferred 60,000 Wyndham Rewards Points into 60,000 Caesars Rewards Points and the transfer took ~7 days to process. My plan was to redeem the points for $600 toward my hotel stay at the Paris Las Vegas. When I arrived in Las Vegas, I had 60,515 points available.
At checkout, the rep printed out my folio for me to review. When I made the reservation, I had to pay for the first night of the stay ($68.45 room rate + $9.16 taxes = $77.61 total). I used my US Bank Altitude Reserve since it earned 3x points for travel. I told the rep that I would like to redeem all my Caesars Reward Points toward the hotel stay. The rep understood and was able to process my request very quickly and easily.
The rep informed me that they had redeemed 58,678 Caesars Rewards Points to cover the entire stay. This included just the room rate since taxes are not applied if you pay entirely with Caesars Rewards Points. The rep then printed out a second page that showed that they processed the $77.61 refund for the first night back to my US Bank Altitude Reserve.
When I logged back into my Caesars Rewards account, I had a new balance of 1,837 points. My starting balance was 60,515 points – 1,837 remaining points = 58,678 redeemed points. I added the 3 paid nights: $68.45 + $152.03 + $366.30 = $586.78, therefore I didn’t pay any taxes for the stay since my entire stay was paid for with points. Sweet deal!
My total before using points was $665.29 for the 3 night stay, but I was able to redeem 58,678 points to pay for the entire stay, which equals 1.13 cents per point. Not bad for Caesars Rewards Points!
A few days later, I checked my US Bank Altitude Reserve and saw that the $77.61 first night at the Paris Las Vegas was refunded. There were also 2 offsetting $737.67 transactions that were pending. I believe both of the pending transactions will drop off together or post together.
If you have any questions about the monorail, discounted show tickets, InKind / Resy, or redeeming Caesars Rewards Points, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!
Thanks Grant. You write ups are always much more useful than Nick’s.
Thank you Lance, I hope you can take advantage of some of these deals in Las Vegas :)
I will write more later, but wanted to mention a few things.
If you are going to Fontainebleau from a strip casino that has a tram stop near, take the tram to Sahara as that casino is closer to Fontainebleau than Westgate.
We found out how close they were when we taxied to Fontainebleau from Sahara.
Had we known before we got in the taxi, we would have walked.
I am glad your breakfast went well at Cafe Hollywood. We were going to eat breakfast at Ocean One in the Miracle Mile Shoppes one day, but the taxi dropped us off at the Planet Hollywood entrance rather than the mall. We were pretty hungry when we came across Cafe Hollywood while walking to Ocean One and decided we would roll the dice by eating there instead of walking on.
To use a gambling term, we crapped out. While the wife’s meal was good, my scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes were cool. I was so hungry I ate them. The potatoes were hot, though. We were offered a refire, but I didn’t want to wait.
Our Beatles Love seats were about four rows up in the top section. We could see everything that was happening and it was almost too much to take in.
The first time I saw the show it was during a solo Vegas trip and I was in a corner floor section so I was part of the audience participation. I will leave it at that so as to not spoil it for anyone who is going before it closes and is sitting in one of those sections.
The second time the wife was with me and we were on the level you were, I believe. They were nice seats and we actually got moved from somewhat higher seats.
The third time was this time and I am sad there won’t be a forth.
Well, today is travel day and I want to power nap before we have to get packed.
Good to know about the Monorail stop at Sahara. Google Maps said it was a shorter walk to the Westgate station, but maybe it depends where in the casino you are starting from. I’m glad you enjoyed the Beatles Love show, I know what you mean about the audience participation.
Sorry your breakfast at Cafe Hollywood was a let down. Safe travels back home :)
