Shelli’s World Coffee Tour – Coffee Houses in Madrid, Spain (Part 2)

I guess it’s time for a true confession. I’m a coffee snob. And when I travel, I have a passion for supporting local roasters and coffee houses. Let’s just say I’ve BEAN Around the World and I’m feeling like now is the time to start sharing the love… and caffeine, one city at a time. Recently, I had a wonderful holiday in Madrid, Spain. And though it was hard to tear myself away from the incredible pinchos and rioja, I did explore the coffee houses, and I’m glad I did. I drank plenty of coffee, talked with baristas, and I’ve got lots to share with you. Let’s open the TWG cafe society doors and talk coffee, Madrid style. If you haven’t had a chance to read Madrid coffee-part one, I suggest you do because it offers an in-depth explanation of the general coffee scene and talks about how people in Madrid typically drink coffee.

The Skies Aren’t Always Clear for Women Pilots!

Which professions do you find fascinating? Maybe you’ve wondered what it’s like to be a top chef, or a diamond cutter. Many professions fascinate me. Being a pilot is one of them. Do you ever wonder about a pilot’s life? I do, and especially about what it must be like to be a woman pilot.

A friend sent me this story about a junior level woman pilot. I had no idea what life was like that for pilots, especially at the junior level. The author, Erika Armstrong, has been in aviation for 30 years. I think you’ll find what she shares fascinating. I did. Here’s her story.

Don’t Miss These Carry-on Luggage Policy Changes on Alaska Airlines

Airline policy changes…….who can keep track of them all? And carry-on luggage restrictions are mind-boggling, to say the least. There are no standards and each airline sets their own rules. And sometimes these rules change. I was reminded of this today when this email popped into my inbox.  Alaska Airlines has changed the size requirements for their carry-on bags.

I created this master chart of all the airline carry-on bag policies so I could keep track of changes like this. Check out what Alaska has to say about their reasoning and also about how to “tame” your carry-on bag!

And if you’re interested in getting  the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card which saves you the fee on your first checked bag, I’d appreciate it if you use my referral link. I have the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card and the first checked bag free option saves me money I’d rather spend on coffee!
