Ebates Birthday Week: 15% Cash Back at 400+ Stores

Good evening everyone.  I just got an alert that Ebates is running their week-long birthday promotion where you can get 15% cash back at 400+ stores.  It looks like some stores are participating the whole week, while others stores are only participating a few days.  If you see a store you like to shop at on the list, don’t wait too long!  You can see the whole list of stores here.  Don’t forget to check Cash Back Monitor to compare cash back rates from several online shopping portals.  If you are not an Ebates member, sign up for a free account (my referral link – thank you) and receive a $10 bonus after your first $25 purchase.

Don’t Forget About the Wells Fargo Credit Card 15 Month Rule

Good morning everyone. During my recent App-O-Rama (final tally: 4 approved and 2 declined), I planned on applying for the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Credit Card.  The credit card earns 1.5% cash back everywhere, has no annual fee, and offers a $200 cash back sign up bonus.  I planned on meeting the minimum spend requirements to get the sign up bonus and then putting the credit card in the drawer.  I had an older Wells Fargo Propel World World American Express Credit Card that had the $175 annual fee billed.  I planned on applying for the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Credit Card and then move all the credit from the Wells Fargo Propel World World American Express Credit Card to the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Credit Card.  Unfortunately, while I was applying for the Wells Fargo Cash Wise Visa Credit Card, I was stopped by the 15 Month Rule…

American Express Hilton Aspire $250 Airline Fee Credits Post Quickly

Good morning everyone.  A few weeks ago, I received my American Express Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card and I have been busy meeting the $4,000 minimum spend requirement and taking advantage of all the card benefits.  This credit card includes a $250 airline fee credit very similar to the American Express Platinum Charge Cards.  You select your airline of choice, make qualifying purchases, and get reimbursed up to $250 every calendar year.  I decided to test this out and see how quickly the airline fee credits post.  Result: these airline fee credits post incredibly quickly!  Scroll down to learn more about the $250 airline fee credit.

A Million Thanks to Million Mile Secrets

Back in 2013, Daraius posted an interview on Million Mile Secrets with a new-on-the-scene young blogger. Having read the interview again, so much about Grant’s enthusiasm is still going strong, even though he now has “a real job and doesn’t travel as much”. But this post isn’t about Grant. It’s about expressing our appreciation to Daraius for all he has given to the points/miles community and wishing him well as his journey continues.

Grant met Daraius many times at Frequent Traveler University (FTU) and Chicago Seminars. I’ve never met Daraius in person……yet. However, in early 2012 I did start an email friendship with him when he answered a question I had about British Airways Avios. Then in 2013 I actually wrote a blog post for MMS, and I said to him, “I can’t believe you do this everyday. Wow, it’s hard!” It amuses me that fast forward five years later, and yes, I do this everyday :)
