I’m not Worried about Redbird Card Shutdowns

Good evening everyone, the word on the street blogosphere is that American Express is starting to shutdown Redbird Cards.  The story was first announced on FlyerTalk and quickly spread to other forums and onto the miles and points blogs.  Here is the image of the email that was uploaded to the FlyerTalk thread.  American Express accuses the user of “repeated suspicious activity” by loading funds onto the Redbird Card and withdrawing the funds (via ACH bank transfer) “and/or bill pays equal to the account balance immediately following “Cash” Reloads.”

Missed News and my CLEAR Card Enrollment Experience

Good morning everyone, dang, I take one day off from blogging to finish my taxes (such a pain in the butt) and I miss out some big miles and points developments.  I guess sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, there was an issue loading Redbird/Bluebird/Serve Cards and even logging into your account.  I was able to load the last $1,500 onto my Redbird Card last night, so everything seems back to normal.  I looked around my Redbird account and looked for new features, but didn’t see anything new.  Frequent Miler has the latest info.

Put me in, Coach! Travel with Grant moves to Boarding Area!

Good afternoon everyone, I have some very excited news to share.  Starting today, Travel with Grant is moving to the Boarding Area home page, permanently!  Do you see the new Boarding Area banner at the top of the page?  It’s official!

For those that don’t know, Travel with Grant was born on May 1, 2013.  The idea of starting a travel blog came to me as I was reading The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau (Amazon) on my way home from FTU DC (the first FTU DC in Tysons Corner, Virginia).  Travel with Grant was the first blog I ever created and I had never touched WordPress before then.

Fast forward 21 months later and here I am… on the home page of Boarding Area!
