New AMEX Offers: Hilton $50 Off $250, 1-800-Flowers, FTD, Teleflora, and Others

Good morning everyone, here are 7 new AMEX Offers that showed up in my American Express account last night.  The first is a great deal at Hilton Hotels and Resorts.  Spend $250 or more and receive a $50 statement credit.  If this offer works similar to the Marriott AMEX Offer and the Courtyard AMEX Offer, you should be able to go to a Hilton Hotel and buy a $250 gift card and receive the statement credit on your purchase.  I have not tested this personally, but if anyone does, please let me know in the comments below.

Hilton AMEX Offer

According to Gift Card Granny, Hilton gift cards are only paying up to 72% face value, so this would be a slight money loser, but could be a great way to meet minimum spend or do a little bit of MS.

Since Valentine’s Day is approaching (at least I think it is), there are many flower deals to choose from along with deals from 1-800-Flowers, FTD, Teleflora, City Sports, Bare Necessities, and Raymour & Flanigan (use left and right arrows to view all images).

Do you have any other AMEX Offers in your account?  Do you plan on taking advantage of any of these offers?  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

Even if AE is willing to pay the $50 on a Hilton gift card (we know the restricted terms don’t mean much from AE), you have one big problem. The charge, I believe, will come from AE gift cards themselves. Hilton.com transfers you to the AE site to purchase the gift cards. Hilton.com has nothing to do with the sale of GCs apparently. And you can be sure if your charge says American Express Gift Cards, you will not be getting back $50 for a Hilton promotion.

If someone sees another way around this, aside from doing the actual promotion as intended – the horror! – that would be great news.

I never thought about purchasing a gift card from Hilton.com, I only thought about going to a Hilton hotel and buying a physical gift card in person. What do you think of that idea?

I think the conditions say Hilton.com only. That’s why I thought it might not work if you bought them at a Hilton location. Then again with AE you never know. I know there have been promos for other hotel brand lately on AE sync. Were there similar restrictions with workarounds? I remember reading something about Marriott and gift cards, but not sure.

After reading the terms of the Hilton AMEX Offer, it sounds like American Express wants to make sure you book directly with Hilton (via online, app, or calling the reservation line directly), rather than booking on a OTA. I would still think buying a Hilton gift card at a Hilton hotel would qualify, but that is just a guess.

I might give it a shot. We’re staying at the Hilton Waikoloa in Hawaii in July. The 5 nights are comped via points but I know we’ll spend a pretty penny on food and other things, especially with 2 kids. I’m going to spend $250 regardless, so if I can get to a Hilton nearby that sells them, I’ll give it a go and report back.

Excellent, thank you Kent. If you have an AMEX Hilton HHonors Surpass with this offer, you can double dip, but I bet AMEX excluded those cards from getting this offer. Thanks for doing the test and reporting back. Have a great time in Hawaii!

Unfortunately the Hilton La Jolla hotel I called here in San Diego, front desk, said gift cards are not available at a Hilton, only on-line.
