[Targeted] Plastiq: Earn 1 Fee Free Dollar (FFD) for Every Dollar Spent with Mastercard (Promo Ends October 31)

Updated 12:00pm PT on 10/24: This looks like a targeted promo.  If you did not receive this email from Plastiq, you may not be eligible for the promo.  Sorry for the confusion.

Good morning everyone.  I just received an email from Plastiq regarding a promo for using your Mastercard to make Plastiq payments.  From today (October 24) through October 31, you will earn 1 Fee Free Dollar (FFD) for every dollar you spend on Plastiq using your Mastercard.  This only includes payments set up today through October 31, not previously scheduled payments.  Any FFDs that you earn during this promo will be credited to your Plastiq account on November 1.  If you are new to Plastiq, here is my referral link.

When Will the 6,000 Wyndham Rewards Anniversary Points Post to My Account?

Good morning everyone.  I had a great time at the Chicago Seminars travel conference and enjoyed meeting several TWG readers over the weekend.  It is always great to put names to faces.  In credit card news, my $75 annual fee posted to my Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card on August 31.  One of the main reasons (or only reasons) to keep the credit card is the 6,000 anniversary points.  I was anxious for the 6,000 anniversary points to post to my Wyndham Rewards account, but the points posted slower than I expected.

Come Say Hi to Me at the Chicago Seminars (Friday-Sunday October 19-21)

Good morning everyone. I am heading to Chicago this weekend for the Chicago Seminars travel conference. Registration is still open if you can get to Chicago this weekend. I’ve gone to the Chicago Seminars several times over the last few years and it is my favorite travel conference (shhh, don’t tell FTU). I’ll be there wearing my Travel with Grant shirt, so feel free to stop me and say hello. I love meeting readers and putting faces to names. Here are a few of my friends who I’ve met at previous Chicago Seminars:

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  Last Friday, I read Frequent Miler’s post about the Lyft AMEX Offer (spend $75 or more and get $15 cash back).  In the post description, Stephen explained the process of buying Lyft gift cards to trigger the AMEX Offer.  I will show you how to purchase Lyft gift cards and how quickly the cash back posts after completing the AMEX Offer.

PSA: Set Up Text & Email Alerts to Catch Fraud Right Away

Good morning everyone.  A few days ago, I received 2 texts from Discover regarding a Fox Rent A Car charge on my Discover It Credit Card.  Unfortunately, I was nowhere near a Fox Rent A Car location and have never rented a car from Fox Rent A Car.  I quickly logged into my Discover app and looked at the transaction details.  It appears there was a charge for $301.92 and then a refund of $301.92.  The other weird thing is the “THUMB*IT” description name.  I immediately called Discover and told them my credit card was stolen and reported the transactions as unauthorized.  The Discover rep assured me that I would not be responsible for these transactions and would send out a replacement credit card right away.  If it weren’t for the text alerts, I may not have noticed that my Discover It Credit Card was stolen, since my balance would not have increased since the transactions cancelled each other out.  This is a great reminder of having text alerts set up for your credit cards.
