New AMEX Offers: Samsonite, Sixt Rent a Car, GoDaddy, Zumba, and Calypso St. Barth

Good afternoon everyone, here are a few new AMEX Offers that I found on some of my American Express cards.  I don’t have any business AMEX cards at the moment, so all of these offers were found on my personal AMEX cards.  The offers include: Samsonite, Sixt Rent a Car, GoDaddy, Zumba, and Calypso St. Barth.  Samsonite is offering a $30 statement credit when you spend $150 or more.

My Chase Freedom, Discover It, and Citi Dividend Q3 MS Strategy

Good morning everyone, I just updated my Chase Freedom vs. Discover It vs. Citi Dividend 5% Cash Back Card Comparison page and thought I would share my Q3 strategy.  If you want to learn more about each card and activate the quarterly cash back bonuses, click the above link.

For Q3, Chase is offering 5% cash back at gas stations and Kohl’s.  Some gas stations (and convenient stores classified as gas stations) sell VGCs and PayPal My Cash Cards.  Each gas station has different rules, so you may have to try a few different places before you will be able to find one that accepts credit cards.  Kohl’s also sells a variety of gift cards and VGCs.  Most Kohl’s stores carry $50 and $100 VGCs, but some carry $200 VGCs.  You may need to check out a few stores to find the best GCs.

Transfer SPG Points Between Family Member Accounts for Free (Revised Steps)

Good morning everyone, a few years ago, I wrote about SPG points transfers and discovered that SPG Starpoint Transfers to Family Members take 26-27 Days, not 30 and that SPG Starpoint Transfers to Family Members take 2 Days (After Initial Transfer).  Since those posts, SPG has redesigned their website and made it a bit trickier to transfer SPG points.  If you want to skip reading this entire post, go directly to the SPG points transfer page.

Before I go on, please take a moment to marvel at my awesome Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop skills in the below photo.  Question: is the young boy an authorized user on his dad’s SPG card or is the dad an authorized user on his son’s SPG card? – please discuss in the comments section.

Watch Netflix at Marriott; New Plenti Online Shopping Portal and Partner/Household Offers

(Hat Tip to Paul for the email)

Good morning everyone, happy TGI Friday.  I have 2 short pieces of news to share.  A few days ago, Marriott announced their new partnership with Netflix via this press release:

Bethesda, Md., June 10, 2015 – Marriott Hotels, the flagship brand of Marriott International Inc., and Netflix announced a groundbreaking partnership to revolutionize the guest room entertainment experience. Guests staying at select Marriott Hotels will be able to subscribe to Netflix or sign into their existing accounts simply by using the Netflix app on the hotel’s internet-connected guest room televisions.

Don’t get too excited just yet, only 6 Marriott properties will be available at the beginning, but more will be added throughout the year:

With this agreement, Marriott Hotels is the first hotel brand authorized to offer guests direct access to their Netflix accounts as part of its guest room entertainment offering. Netflix is currently available at six properties, with six more launching this summer. The brand plans to expand Netflix to 100 of its properties by the end of 2015, and to nearly all of its more than 300 properties in the U.S. by the end of 2016.

This feature will be built into the TV and not dependent on the WiFi speed in your hotel room.  I don’t have a Netflix account or watch any of the “amazing” Netflix programs, but I am sure this is good news for some of you.
