How I Got “Dropped” by Drop… and then Reinstated

After many of us saw our Drop accounts go into the “technical error abyss” for a week (I mean…forever…), I sent drop a Support Ticket inquiring as to what was going on with my account, and why I couldn’t redeem for awards. I also wanted to know what happened to my reward redemptions that never arrived (awards had previously been coming in within a few minutes on all my redemptions).

I received multiple replies ranging from their Reward Processor was having technical difficulties in the US, to they were having issues on their end and they were working on it. I tried reaching out on Twitter and Facebook Messenger as well, and both told me to email their support.

After reading various other responses on various blogs that Drop had changed their Terms and Conditions (T&C) to disallow people from earning points on repeated purchases, I decided to send them an email demanding my points be reinstated. After all, I had done all my purchasing before they had changed their T&C. Continue reading

New AMEX Offer for Etsy: $15 Off $50 (Expires 9/30)

Good morning everyone.  I was just looking through my AMEX Offers and spotted an offer for Etsy.  You can get a $15 statement credit after spending $50 online.  I have never bought anything from Etsy, but I know they have some pretty cool stuff.  This offer was on every single one of my cards (except for the AMEX Blue Business Plus Credit Card, which never seems to have any AMEX Offers).

If you are an Etsy expert, tell me what items I should buy.  Does anyone sell on Etsy?  If you have any questions, please leave a comment below.  Have a great day everyone!

How to Send Money to Friends (or Other Bank Accounts) Instantly with Zelle

Good morning everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start.  Over the weekend, I had some free time on my hands, so I experimented with Zelle, the rebranded Chase QuickPay / clearXchange money transfer service being used by all the big banks.  Enrolling in Zelle is really easy and the feature is built into most bank apps.  In my 2 tests, I transfered $5 from my Chase checking account to my US Bank checking account, and then I decided to send $1 from my US Bank checking account back to my Chase checking account.  I did everything with the help of the Chase and US Bank iPhone apps.  Here are instructions for sending money from one account to another, or from one person to another with Zelle.  If you have Zelle with a different bank than Chase or US Bank, the process should be almost identical.

With Zelle, you have to have to enroll/link a phone number or email address.  Only one phone number or email address can be used per Zelle account.  I decided to use my email address with Chase and my phone number with US Bank.  I signed into my US Bank app, clicked the menu icon in the upper left corner, clicked Send Money, and clicked Receive with Zelle.  I made sure my phone number was listed and my US Bank checking account was linked.

Wells Fargo Propel World AMEX Sign Up Bonus Posts Slowly

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  In March, I wrote a blog post where I contemplated applying for 10 credit cards during my March App-O-Rama.  In April, I shared the results of my App-O-Rama. And then in May, I wrote My March App-O-Rama Credit Card Sign Up Bonuses Post.  One noticeable exception to that last post was the 40,000 Go Far Rewards Points sign up bonus for my Wells Fargo Propel World American Express Credit Card.  I patiently waited for the sign up bonus to post, but it seemed like the points got lost (insert bad joke that Wells Fargo is still using horse-drawn stagecoaches to deliver sign up bonuses and maybe a bank robber intercepted my points).
