Why You Should Take Advantage of Random Status Matches

Good morning everyone!  Earlier this month I traveled solo to Spain on a mistake fare that I got with TAP Portugal early last year.  I live in Charlotte but the fare was from JFK so I used Citi ThankYou points to get myself a positioning flight on American from CLT to JFK.  TAP Portugal is a no frills airline which can be painful when you have a long journey like I did.  I had a 3 hour layover at JFK and what was supposed to be a 3 hour layover after a red-eye to my connection in Portugal.  My return journey included a 4 hour layover in Portugal and an overnight near JFK before taking the first morning flight to Charlotte.  When you are on such a long journey lugging around heavy bags, long waits in security lines and sitting at gates during layovers can be painful.  Luckily I took advantage of a random status match on an airline I had no plans of flying with at the end of 2015 and that afforded me a few comforts that may have saved me from losing my mind.

10 Award Wallet Plus 1 Year Upgrade Code Winners (10 Great Ideas to Improve the Service)

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  Thank you to everyone who participated in my giveaway yesterday for 10 Award Wallet Plus 1 year upgrade codes.  I asked you to tell me what feature would make Award Wallet even better.  I carefully reviewed every comment and I had a very hard time narrowing down the list to my top 10 favorite comments.  Several comments mentioned the same feature, so in fairness, I went with the comment that was posted first.  Here are the 10 winners, based in order of posting.

1 – Itineraries to share with friends/family members without prices, points used & reservation codes.

José Luis Domingo Fuster It would be nice to have the possibility of generating a, let’s say “sterile” itinerary, to give to your family or friends, with timetable, and all contact data but without paid/due amounts nor reserve codes.

2 – Transaction history showing recent miles/points/cash back changes (most popular response).

SL It would be great if awardwallet could also include transactional history (kinda like mint) to provide greater context of the balances.

10 Award Wallet Plus 1 Year Upgrade Codes Giveaway: What Feature is Missing?

Good morning everyone, I hope your week is going well.  I am writing this post at the Peet’s Coffee inside the SF Ferry Building before I head to the office.  Long story short, I was inspired by Frequent Miler’s post from yesterday (Should you lock in AwardWallet Plus for $10 per year?) that I decided to purchase 10 Award Wallet Plus 1 year upgrade codes and give them away to my readers.  I have been a huge fan of Award Wallet for a very long time and have been a partner with them for a few years (they even reached out to me to become a partner when I was first starting out).  If you are not an Award Wallet user, please read my introduction post: What is Award Wallet? and sign up for your free account.

To participate in the giveaway, please leave a comment below stating which feature you think Award Wallet is missing.  Essentially, what would make Award Wallet even better than it is now? My hope is that my readers will come up with some great ideas and maybe Award Wallet will implement those new features in the future.  To be eligible for the giveaway, your comment must be submitted by 11:59pm PT tonight (1/26/2017).  I will pick my favorite responses tomorrow morning (1/27/2017) and email the 1 year Award Wallet Plus upgrade codes to the 10 winners.  Good luck to everyone who participates!
