In other news, Discover recently began accepting Q2 cash back signups.  The categories from April 1 through June 30 are restaurants and movies.  Since my old Citi Forward Credit Card offers 5x in both those categories (year round), I will probably not use my Discover It Credit Card next quarter.  You can sign up for Q2 by logging into your Discover account.

Jamison @ Points Summary recently wrote about his experience with UberPool in Los Angeles.  The concept is simple, share a ride with 1 other person and you both save money on your Uber ride.  The app intelligently matches you with riders who are heading the same direction, so there is minimal detours.  The great thing about UberPool is that most of the time the fare is capped, so you know exactly how much it will cost before you even get in the car.

In San Francisco, you can take UberPool anywhere in the “7×7” SF area for $7 per person.  They also have a cap on rides to the airport.  I got a 13 mile ride from the city to SFO for $15.  I enjoyed talking to the other passenger (Google Glass engineer) heading to SFO as well.

Barclays recently sent out emails to all US Airways Credit Card holders alerting them that their credit card would be converted to a Barclys AAdvantage Aviator Red MasterCard (mouth full).  From now through June 30, you will be able to earn a 50% bonus on credit card spend.  Learn more about the promo here.

Last but not least, there is a new Hyatt hotel in Dubai that you can use your points at.  The Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights recently became available for paid and points stays.  The nightly rates for this weekend start at $259 or 12,000 Hyatt Points per night.  Good deal on points!
