Citi Costco Anywhere Credit Card Extended Warranty Benefit Ending on January 22, 2023

Good morning everyone, happy Friday.  I was reviewing my recent Citi Costco Anywhere Visa Credit Card statement and spotted this announcement at the bottom of my statement.  The announcement says: “Effective January 22, 2023, Extended Warranty coverage will be discontinued and will no longer be provided for purchases made on or after that date.”  I decided to do some digging to find out more information about the change.

Why I Converted my 3 Citi AT&T Access More Credit Cards to 3 Citi Custom Cash Cards

Good afternoon everyone.  A few month ago, I wrote My Experience Product Changing / Converting / Downgrading to the Citi Custom Cash Credit Card.  In that post, I shared my experience product changing from the Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card to the Citi Custom Cash Credit Card.  At the beginning of this year, I had 3 Citi AT&T Access More cards but by mid June, I had converted them all to Citi Custom Cash cards.  In this post, I will share why I loved the Citi AT&T Access More and why I stopped loving the cards over the years.

First things first, the Citi AT&T Access More is no longer available to new applicants and Citi recently stopped allow people to product change to this card.  With that info out of the way, here is why I used to love this card.  Instead of a traditional sign up bonus, this card offered a $650 statement credit after you purchased a new AT&T phone.  On September 20, 2016, I purchased a new AT&T phone (I honestly can’t remember which phone it was, but that’s not important).  This card earns 3x Citi ThankYou Points on AT&T purchases and online purchases; 1x on everything else.

My 2022 Midyear Review of Airline, Hotel & Credit Card Predictions

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend. Much like the corporate world with midyear reviews, I thought it would be fun / embarrassing to do a midyear review of My Wild and Crazy 2022 Airline, Hotel & Credit Card Predictions.  I copied the list from the previous post and will see how many predictions I got correct and how many were dead wrong.  But remember, there is still 6 months left in the year for the remaining predictions to come true…

My 2022 Airline Predictions (1 / 7)

  • Alaska Airlines or Southwest Airlines will bring back their “convert travel funds to airline miles” feature. – I still cannot believe this feature exists but Alaska and Southwest are not using it.
  • American Airlines will return as a Citi ThankYou Points airline transfer partner. – I still cannot believe that Citi can’t get American Airlines to come back to the ThankYou Points portal.
  • Avianca will give Turkish Airlines a run for their money for domestic Star Alliance awards.
  • British Airways will let you use Avios to pay the taxes, fees, and fuel surcharge portion of award tickets.
  • Delta Airlines, Southwest Airlines, or United Airlines will introduce a “Miles and Cash” payment option for award tickets (pay 10,000 miles or pay 8,000 miles + $40).
  • JetBlue will partner with another US airline for award bookings. – Yes, you can book JetBlue flights using American Airlines miles.
  • United Airlines will be a transfer partner with Brex, Citi, or American Express.

Stop Ignoring Vacasa Vacation Rentals! Get Awesome Condos for 13,500 Wyndham Rewards Points per Night

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  A few days ago, I booked 3 more Vacasa Vacation Rentals for an upcoming trip to Maui and Oahu.  I am a huge fan of Vacasa (especially in Hawaii) and the booking process is pretty easy, you just need to call Wyndham Rewards. The price is right too at only 13,500 Wyndham Rewards Points per bedroom per night, if you have the Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner+ Credit Card or the Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Credit Card (or 15,000 points per bedroom per night without the credit card).  Here are the 6 Vacasa properties in Hawaii that I have booked and stayed at / will stay at.  There are actually a few ways to earn Wyndham Rewards Points that I will show you later in the post.  Let’s get started.

Brainstorming New Credit Card Ideas for Citi – Check Out the Citi Adulting is Hard Rewards Credit Card

Good morning everyone, I hope your weekend is going well.  I don’t know about you, but sometimes I dream about credit cards and travelling.  I also recently product changed from an old Citi AT&T Access More to a Citi Custom Cash (read My Experience Product Changing / Converting / Downgrading to the Citi Custom Cash Credit Card), so I had the Citi Custom Cash on the brain.  As you probably know, Citi has several “cash back” credit cards that earn Citi ThankYou Points and each credit card has it’s niche.  I decided to brainstorm some ideas for new Citi credit cards, so let me know what you think.

For starters, let’s go through the existing Citi credit card lineup to see what areas are already covered to identify possible opportunities.

  • Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card (no longer available) – 3x for AT&T purchases and online purchases; 1x everywhere else
  • Citi Rewards+ Credit Card – 2x at supermarkets and gas stations; 1x everywhere else; round up to the nearest 10 points; 10% rebate on redeemed points, up to 10,000 points
  • Citi Custom Cash Credit Card – 5% cash back on your highest spend category, on the first $500 spent in that category each month; 1% cash back everywhere else
  • Citi Dividend Credit Card (no longer available) – 5% cash back in rotating categories every quarter
