40% Bonus when you Buy Alaska Airline Miles (Expires October 28)

We all have our favorite airlines and miles programs. Maybe I’m biased because I usually start my travels from the West Coast, but I’m a big fan of Alaska Airlines and can never have too many Alaska miles. If your Alaska miles account is short on miles, Alaska has a 40% offer on purchased miles expiring on October 28. This brings the cost to 2.1 cents per mile.

Hyatt Hotel Promos: Take Advantage of These Two

World of Hyatt is offering 1,000 bonus American Airlines miles

If you’ve got Hyatt Place and Hyatt House stays coming up, this promo is for you. Heck, this promo runs through the end of January and you never know, so might as well register for it now just in case. I haven’t had a Hyatt Place stay in a while since I had that strange episode of lobby music.

World of Hyatt is offering 1,000 bonus American Airlines miles on every stay at either of these brands. Even award stays count towards the bonus. That always sweetens the deal on these promotions. Registration is required, so here’s the link.

Bean Around The World: Copenhagen, Denmark

I guess it’s time for a true confession. I’m a coffee snob. And when I travel, I have a passion for supporting local roasters and coffee houses. Let’s just say I’ve BEAN Around the World and I’m feeling like now is the time to start sharing the love… and caffeine, one city at a time. Recently, I had a wonderful holiday in Copenhagen, Denmark. And though it was hard to tear myself away from the sites and all that delicious herring, I did explore the coffee houses, and I’m glad I did. I drank plenty of coffee, talked with baristas, and I’ve got lots to share with you. Let’s open the TWG cafe society doors and talk coffee, Copenhagen style.

I’ll say right up front that Scandinavia gets a lot of buzz for having the current “happening” coffee scene. Part of planning this trip was actually based on wanting to experience the scene myself and see what all the hoopla was about. My impressions run the gamut from being thrilled to being totally disappointed. Continue reading

Come Say Hi to Me at the Chicago Seminars (Friday-Sunday October 19-21)

Good morning everyone. I am heading to Chicago this weekend for the Chicago Seminars travel conference. Registration is still open if you can get to Chicago this weekend. I’ve gone to the Chicago Seminars several times over the last few years and it is my favorite travel conference (shhh, don’t tell FTU). I’ll be there wearing my Travel with Grant shirt, so feel free to stop me and say hello. I love meeting readers and putting faces to names. Here are a few of my friends who I’ve met at previous Chicago Seminars:

If you have any questions, please leave a comment below. Have a great day everyone!

Buy Miles/Points Promos: United 70% Bonus, IHG 100% Bonus, American 42.5K Bonus & Choice Hotels 40% Bonus

Good afternoon everyone.  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found a few new offers.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, I have 4 promos to share with you.  First up, United Airlines has a tiered bonus where you can get up to a 70% bonus on United Airlines miles.  This offer expires on October 16.
