Unboxing my Discover It Miles Credit Card: Card Art & Welcome Letter

Good morning everyone.  Yesterday I shared the story that Discover would not match me to the Discover It Miles Credit Card $75 sign up bonus from Amazon.  Even though I am still a little annoyed at Discover, I respect their decision.  In today’s post, I am going to unbox my new Discover It Miles Credit Card (my referral link), show you the card art, and welcome letters.  Without further ado, here is the nice brown package/box that came to my home last week.

Happy Feet Make For Happy Travels

There’s one essential must-have, must-take-with-me-when-I-travel item that I get tons of questions about. When I wear my Buff people look at me…….and then ask a question. But with Yoga toes, very few people actually see me using them because I’m home or in a hotel room when I use them. Whenever I talk about Yoga toes people are curious.

So let’s answer the most asked question: what’s the big deal about Yoga toes?

First let’s start with some humor. I actually had a woman ask me, “Can’t you just put marbles, or grapes, or something between your toes?” I suppose you could, but my answer to her was, “Why would you want to when you can use Yoga toes?”

My US Bank Radisson Rewards Credit Card Arrived; Why Does the Card Look Different?

Good afternoon everyone.  Earlier today, I wrote Did I get Approved for a New US Bank Credit Card? Just Log into your Account to Check.  In that post, I talked about my surprise approval of the US Bank Radisson Rewards Visa Signature Credit Card.  I also mentioned that I received the Platinum Visa version, instead of the Visa Signature version.  Here is a quick rundown of the differences between the Visa Signature version (left) and the Visa Platinum version (right).  I wanted the Visa Signature version because the sign up bonus was 60,000 Radisson Rewards Points after spending $1,500 in 3 months and it came with 25,000 Radisson Rewards Points every year you pay the $50 annual fee.  Eventually, I plan on upgrading to the US Bank Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Credit Card (not pictured) because that offers 40,000 Radisson Rewards Points every year you pay the $75 annual fee.

In this post, I will show you the card art for the Visa Platinum version and the welcome letter that came with this credit card.  I will also share my 2 calls to US Bank to try to make sense of my new credit card.

Unboxing my Chase Marriott Rewards Business Credit Card: Card Art, Brochure & Welcome Letter

Good afternoon everyone.  A few days ago, I wrote about how I knew I was approved for a new Chase credit card before getting an email or letter in the mail.  Fast forward to now, my new Chase Marriott Rewards Business Credit Card arrived in the mail.  The credit card design doesn’t look like the card that I approved for, so I will share my theory below.  I also got the welcome letter that I will share below.  The front and back of the new credit card is metal, and looks very similar to the personal Chase Marriott Rewards Credit Card, but is not quite as thick as the JPMorgan Chase Ritz Carlton Credit Card.

Do you Still go to Movie Theaters?

Do you have something special you do when you travel that gives you a greater glimpse into the local culture? I do. I go the movies! I really enjoy seeing a movie in other countries and observing their local movie theater customs. In Australia, for instance, people ate ice cream cones in the theater. So I had an ice cream cone, too. It felt really odd to eat a cone in the dark. And I made quite a mess. The first time I was ever asked to reserve a seat in a movie theater was in New Zealand. The movie goers in Portugal stay until the very end of all the movie credits. And as I mentioned here, in Lisbon I went to a theater that didn’t have any food or beverages for sale. No concession stand at all!

I even enjoy sitting through movies in languages I don’t speak or understand. I’ve done that in Japan. In Vienna, I went to a wonderful old movie house. Those are the best. I also enjoy reading about the history of movie houses, why we go to movies at all, and in many cases how movie going culture has changed. Here’s an article I found written by a film historian and critic. It’s a fun, easy read!

Maybe you don’t go to movies when you travel, but do you do something that’s fun and unusual that puts you in the local scene?
