November Buy Miles/Points Promos: United Airlines Mystery Offer (70% Bonus), Air France / KLM (75% Bonus), Southwest & Spirit (30% Discounts)

Good afternoon everyone.  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found a few new offers.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, here are the 4 promos that are ending in November. First up, United Airlines is running a mystery offer with up to 70% bonus miles, depending on the number of United Airlines miles you purchase.  Offer ends on November 20.

Ebates Mobile App: Earn $1 Cash Back Per Lyft Ride

Good evening everyone – happy Friday!  I was just using the Ebates app and spotted a new promotion with Lyft.  You can earn $1 cash back for every Lyft ride you book through the Ebates app. If you have the Lyft app already installed, you will see the Lyft Get a Ride button.  If you click that button, it will open the Lyft app.  If you are not an Ebates member, you can create a free account here.  If you are not a Lyft user, you can get $20 cash back on your first ride, when you sign up via the Ebates app.

Pathetic US Bank Radisson Rewards Targeted Spending Offer

Good afternoon everyone.  I just wanted to share a pathetic US Bank Radisson Rewards targeted spending offer I received yesterday.  I have 3 US Bank Radisson Rewards credit cards (Business, Visa Signature, and Visa Platinum) and received the same pathetic spending offer on all 3 credit cards.  After spending $50 on the credit card, I will earn 1 bonus point per dollar, up to 5,000 bonus points.  The Business and Visa Signature versions earn 5x everywhere, so this would be 6x everywhere.  I barely put any spending on my US Bank Radisson Rewards credit cards and this promotion does not entice me to start using these credit cards.  If you use your US Bank Radisson Rewards credit cards more often, you may receive a better targeted spend offer.

My Short Visit to the New Amazon Go Store in San Francisco

Good afternoon everyone, happy Halloween!  Yesterday, I visited the new Amazon Go store in San Francisco (Google Map).  I would describe the Amazon Go store as a small Whole Foods with prepackaged food, snacks, drinks, and a very minimum first aid section.  There are no electronics or other home goods (besides a few Amazon Go mugs & bottles).  The Amazon Go store was the size of a small 7/11 or convenience store.  You do not need to be an Amazon Prime member, you only need to be an Amazon customer who has a credit card on file.  The first thing you need to do is download the Amazon Go app (iOS or Android), sign into your Amazon account, and select a credit card you want to use (I used my Discover It Credit Card since it earns 5% cash back at Amazon this quarter).

After you set up your Amazon Go app, there will be a diamond QR code.  When you walk inside the Amazon Go store, there are a few waist-high security gates (similar to what you would see if you went to a tall office building).  Scan your Amazon Go diamond QR code like you would at TSA and the security gates will open.  Congrats, you are now inside the Amazon Go store.

Plastiq Now Offers Expedited Check Delivery via FedEx Priority Overnight

Good morning everyone.  Yesterday, I received an email from Plastiq regarding a new feature added to Plastiq’s Accelerated Payments Suite.  Here is the email:

As our valued partner, we want you to be the first to know about Plastiq’s New Product Feature, Expedited Check Delivery, that will be released on Tuesday, October 30th, 2018!

As the newest addition to the Accelerated Payments Suite, expedited check payment on the Plastiq platform offers a convenient and flexible way for customers to maximize their credit. Customers simply schedule the payment and choose expedited delivery in order to guarantee delivery within two business days. Plastiq accepts the customer’s payment by credit card and sends a check to their vendor.

Business owners often seek to maximize their lines of credit, including the most easily accessible one of all – credit cards. Why not leverage the line of credit you already have in your wallet? Not only are you able to benefit from the cash float available by leveraging credit card payoff periods, but you can also earn rewards to invest back into you business. It’s a win-win!
