*Updated* List of British Airways Avios Routes from the Bay Area (SFO, OAK, and SJC)

Good morning everyone.  British Airways made an announcement overnight that they would be eliminating the 4,500 Avios award band for all award travel on American Airlines and Alaska Airlines.  The lowest Avios award band for American Airlines and Alaska Airlines will be 7,500 Avios starting on February 2, 2016.  All other Avios award bands for travel on all other Avios partners remain the same.

Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card $100 Statement Credit Slow to Post

Good morning everyone.  During my July 2015: My 8 Credit Card App-O-Rama Game Plan, I applied for the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card (I applied through the special link from FlyerTalk, not the publicly available offer).  This credit card is great because it offers 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles on approval (no spend required), has a $75 annual fee (not waived), and also offers a $100 statement credit after spending $1,000 in 3 months.  So after spending $1,000, my total gain from the credit card approval should be 26,000 Alaska Airlines miles (25,000 miles from sign up bonus + 1,000 miles from spend) plus $25.  Pretty good deal, right?

July App-O-Rama Update: Several Reconsideration Calls Required to be Approved for 6 New Credit Cards

Good evening everyone.  Last month, I wrote July 2015: My 8 Credit Card App-O-Rama Game Plan and I shared my plans/reasoning for applying for the below 8 credit cards.

After listening to your feedback and suggestions, I decided to make some changes to my App-O-Rama plan.  The table below shows the 7 credits that I ended up applying for.  Here are my reasons for not applying for a few of the credit cards:

  • The Barclays Arrival Plus Credit Card was not available for new applications on my App-O-Rama date.
  • I couldn’t get the targeted 75,000 offer on the AMEX Business Gold Rewards Charge Card, so I decided to wait for a better public offer.
  • I forgot that Citi’s “8 Day Rule” applies to personal and business credit cards, so I decided to apply for the Citi American Airlines Business Credit Card instead of the Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Credit Card.
  • I decided to go for the Bank of America Spirit Airlines Credit Card instead of another Bank of America Virgin Atlantic Credit Card.

Strange Approval for Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card (Credit Lines Lowered/Moved)

Good afternoon everyone, a few days ago I did an App-O-Rama (full details and results to come).  One of my credit card applications was for a Bank of America Alaska Airlines Credit Card.  I was instantly approved online for a $9,000 credit line.  If you are approved for a credit line over $5,000, you will receive the Visa Signature version that comes with a 25,000 Alaska Airlines miles sign up bonus on approval.  I will also get a $100 statement credit after spending $1,000 on the card within 3 months.  That is not the interesting part of the story though…
