Recent Tech Funding: Uber $1.6B, Raise Gift Cards $56M, Shazam $30M, Chime $8M, and RadPad $2M

After moving to the Bay Area, home of the tech startup, I learned about a website called Crunch Base, which is a big database full of information regarding some of the my favorite companies.  You can find information about pretty much any tech company, big or small, new or old, all in one place.  I received an email from them this morning about some recent funding (debt financing, venture funding, etc.) and thought it would be fun to share.

How to Close your American Express Serve Card

If you ever decide to switch from your American Express Serve Card to a Bluebird Card or Target Redbird Card, you will first have to close your American Express Serve Card.  Follow this tutorial and your Serve Card will be closed in a few minutes.  The first thing you need to do is log into your Serve online account and click the profile link.

New AMEX Offers: Hilton $50 Off $250, 1-800-Flowers, FTD, Teleflora, and Others

Good morning everyone, here are 7 new AMEX Offers that showed up in my American Express account last night.  The first is a great deal at Hilton Hotels and Resorts.  Spend $250 or more and receive a $50 statement credit.  If this offer works similar to the Marriott AMEX Offer and the Courtyard AMEX Offer, you should be able to go to a Hilton Hotel and buy a $250 gift card and receive the statement credit on your purchase.  I have not tested this personally, but if anyone does, please let me know in the comments below.

There is currently a targeted promotion from United Airlines where you will earn a $50 electronic certificate if you register for this promo and make a round trip transpacific flight on United Airlines before April 25.  To see if you are eligible for the promotion, please click here.  Here is how the promotion works:

  • Register today (between January 14 and February 5, 2015)
  • Book your trans-Pacific roundtrip flight with United Airlines by February 5, 2015
  • Fly between January 14 and April 25, 2015
  • After the promotion period, you will receive a certificate via email for a $50 discount, valid for travel on United and United Express through December 31, 2015, to anywhere United flies.
