PSA: Redeem eBay Bucks Before May 2, Buy an eBay Gift Card

Good morning everyone, I am at the D Hotel in Las Vegas for FTU Las Vegas this weekend.  I had a pretty uneventful Friday night since I am awake this early, so I decided to share a nice public service announcement with anyone who is still sitting on their eBay Bucks.  Your eBay Bucks certificate expires on May 2, 2016, and will have no value if you try try to redeem after that date.  But luckily, there is a very easy way to roll/extend your eBay Bucks balance without much work. All you need to do is buy an eBay Gift Card (or eBay eGift Card).  I received the $100 eBay eGIft Card via email a few hours later.

Several New AMEX Offers: Best Buy, Target, Gap, Neiman Marcus & More

Good morning everyone, happy April Fool’s Day!  No jokes from me, I’m 100% serious 100% of the time.  Today is also the start of Q2, so get your Q2 credit cards ready and read My Q2 Rotating Cash Back Category Credit Card Strategy.  Spoiler alert: Discover It for restaurants (Citi Forward as my restaurant backup until June 3) and Chase Freedom for grocery stores.

In other news, American Express just released several new AMEX Offers, but they are mostly the 2x Membership Reward Points variety, therefore, they suck.  If earning 2x Membership Reward Points are your thing, you are going to be very happy.  Here are the 4 best AMEX Offers: Best Buy, Target, Gap Brands, and Neiman Marcus.  Most of these 2x offers are only valid online.

My Q2 Rotating Cash Back Category Credit Card Strategy

(Hat Tip to Free-Quent Flyer Book’s post from yesterday)

2 nights ago, I was at the SF Travel Hackers March Meetup and I was talking to a few friends about my second quarter rotating cash back category credit card strategy (that is a mouthful).  I wanted to see what everyone’s strategy was for Q2 and that thought process led to this post.  As a reminder, there are currently 4 rotating cash back category credit cards: Chase Freedom, Citi Dividend, Discover It, and US Bank Cash+.  Even though I have around 30 credit cards, I am a minimalist at heart.  I have an iPhone case that can hold a few cards.  Currently, my “iPhone wallet” (Verus iPhone card case on Amazon) holds my drivers license, my Citi Forward (5% cash back at restaurants) and my AMEX Old Blue Cash (5% cash back at grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations).

iPhone 6S Versus Card Case

Since I want to remain a credit card minimalist, I want to carry only 2 credit cards in my “iPhone Wallet.”  Which credit cards will I carry for Q2? Continue reading
