Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great 4th of July with your friends and family.  This post is 2 months late, since Travel with Grant turned 2 on May 3, 2015.  Side note: what is the appropriate celebratory name: blog birthday or blog anniversary (blogiversary)?  I’m leaning toward blog birthday since I am not *legally* married to Travel with Grant (#blogloveisreal).  Either way, I wanted to celebrate 2 great years of blogging with a few giveaway items.

But before I get to the giveaway, I wanted to say a few thank yous first.  Thank you to my readers who have been with me from the beginning and who continue to read my blog on a daily basis.  Thank you to my friends on Twitter (bloggers and non-bloggers alike) who are incredibly supportive and immensely knowledgeable.  Thank you to the handful of readers who show up at my various meetups to share tips and tricks.  Thank you to my readers who support my site by shopping on Amazon and Ebay or by applying for a credit card (or 4) through my credit card affiliate links.  And last but not least, a very special thank you to Randy Petersen and the Boarding Area team for their technical and educational help over the last year.

Official SF Travel Hackers June Meetup + Chipotle Dinner on Tuesday Night at 7pm

Good evening everyone, sorry for the last minute notice, but I just got an email this afternoon from the SF Travel Hackers group on Meetup.com.  They are having a meetup tomorrow night (Tuesday night at 7pm) in San Francisco.  Since this location is only a few blocks from work, I will definitely be there.  If you live or work in San Francisco, try to join us tomorrow night.  I will not be speaking or presenting, but I will definitely share some of my tricks regarding award bookings on Alaska Airlines, British Airways, and United Airlines.  If the event says it is full, I would still recommend going since there are often last minute dropouts on the day of the event.  Hopefully I will see some of you there.

Bank of America BankAmeriCard Better Balance Rewards Intro and Quarterly Bonus Strategy

Update 7am 6/26/15: there is an even easier way to charge your BBR CC with Amazon Allowance, read this post to learn more.

(Hat Tip to Stefan @ Rapid Travel Chai)

Good morning everyone, I recently converted from a Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Credit Card to a Bank of America BankAmeriCard Better Balance Rewards Credit Card (BBR CC).  Why?  With the BBR CC, you can earn up to $120 per year in cash back.  How?  Every quarter (Jan-Mar, Apr-Jun, Jul-Sep, Oct-Dec), you can earn a $25 bonus when you make 1 qualifying purchase per statement period (aka month) and paying your bill in full.  If you are a Bank of America customer (checking, saving, or Merrill Lynch account), you will get an extra $5 bonus per quarter.  So if you are a Bank of America customer and make all the qualifying purchases, you will make $120 per year.  If you are not a Bank of America customer, but you do make all the qualifying purchases, you will make $100 per year.

Plenti Smartphone App Review for iPhone and Android

Good morning everyone, I spent a few minutes playing around with the new Plenti app on my iPhone.  The app is built well and has all the features you would want to make your shopping and Plenti point accumulation process as easy as possible.  You can download the app here:

All screenshots are from an iPhone 6, but the process should be similar on other smartphones.  After you download the Plenti app, you can log into your Plenti account.  From the app you can see various Plenti offers, see your points activity, view your Plenti card bar code, and use points at checkout.  Let’s go through each section below.
