My Recent Retention Offers for AMEX Blue Business Plus & US Bank Altitude Reserve

Good morning everyone, I hope your week is going well.  Over the last few weeks, I made retention calls on 2 credit cards and I wanted to share my data points.  I started with the American Express Blue Business Plus Credit Card.  Even though this credit card doesn’t have an annual fee, I had heard others had success getting retention offers, so I decided to call and see if there were any offers.  I started with the AMEX Chat, but the chat rep said I needed to call a specific department to talk about retention offers.  On the phone, I explained to the rep that I have been using my American Express Business Platinum Card and American Express Business Gold Card a lot recently and haven’t been using my AMEX Blue Business Plus very much lately and I was considering closing the card.  The rep checked the offers and said they could offer me a $50 statement credit with no spend.  I asked if there were any other offers, but there were no better offers available, so I gladly accepted the offer.  The $50 statement credit posted to my account a few days later.

Register for FTU Virtual Seminar on Saturday, March 11 ($25) or Free with Online Annual Membership

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  If you are not busy this Saturday, March 11, I highly recommend attending the FTU Virtual Seminar (tickets available for $25) or free if you have the FTU Online Annual Membership.  The seminar starts on Saturday, March 11, at 8am PT / 11am ET.  I have attended all of the FTU Virtual Seminars over the last 2+ years and they are always well done, educational, and entertaining – and I am sure this seminar will be no exception!  Here is the schedule for the event.

If you register for the seminar, but are unable to watch the live stream, you can access the recording of the seminar and watch later on.  This is also a great way to re-watch your favorite presentations and catch any details that you originally missed.

4 Buy Miles / Points Promos Ending Soon: JetBlue (60%), Air France / KLM (100%), United (100%) & Air Canada (20%)

Good afternoon everyone, happy Friday!  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found 4 offers that end in the next week.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, here are the 4 offers that end soon.

Up first, JetBlue is offering up to an 60% bonus, depending on the number of JetBlue TrueBlue Points you purchase.  This offer expires today – February 24.

Forgot Card? Access American Express Centurion Lounges & Capital One Lounges with Phone

Good morning everyone.  Yesterday, my friend told me that there is a way to access American Express Centurion Lounges and Capital One Lounges without having your American Express Platinum Card, American Express Business Platinum Card, or Capital One Venture X Credit Card with you at the airport.  You just need to sign into the American Express app or Capital One app and there is a way to display a QR code to access the lounges.  I never knew this feature existed, so I thought it would be worth sharing in case you ever find yourself at a lounge without your card.  Several years ago, I wrote a similar post for Priority Pass: Access Priority Pass Lounges without your Card (Use Priority Pass App & Apple Wallet).

Access to American Express Centurion Lounges

To get started, download the American Express app (iOS or Android).  Then sign into the app, select your personal or business Platinum card, and then click the Membership button on the bottom.

PSA: ApplePay **DOES NOT WORK** with Chase IHG Rewards Select, Premier, or Business Credit Cards [Partially Resolved]

Updated at 6:15pm PT on 2/6/23: This evening, I was able to add my Chase IHG Select Credit Card and Chase IHG Premier Credit Card to ApplePay, but I was not able to add my Chase IHG Business Credit Card.  My friend is still not able to add either of the personal IHG credit cards.

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is off to a great start.  Earlier today, I noticed a great Chase Offer on several Chase credit cards for $5 off a $10 restaurant purchase.  I added the Chase Offer to all my eligible Chase credit cards, including my Chase IHG Select Credit Card (no longer available) and Chase IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card.  I don’t carry all of my credit cards with me, so I planned on adding those 2 Chase IHG credit cards to my ApplePay Wallet.  Unfortunately, after several attempts and after speaking with a few Chase phone reps, I learned that the personal IHG credit cards and the Chase IHG Rewards Premier Business Credit Card do not work on ApplePay.
