3 Buy Miles / Points Promos Ending Soon: Avianca (160%), Spirit (30%) & Choice Hotels (40%)

Good afternoon everyone, happy Friday!  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found 3 offers that end in the next week.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, here are 3 offers that end soon.

Up first, Avianca Airlines is offering up to a 160% bonus, depending on the number of Avianca Airlines LifeMiles you purchase.  This offer expires today – December 2.

Register for FTU Virtual Seminar on Saturday, December 3 ($25) or Free with Online Annual Membership

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great Cyber Monday!  If you are not busy this Saturday, December 3, I highly recommend attending the FTU Virtual Seminar (tickets available for $25) or free if you have the FTU Online Annual Membership.  The seminar starts on Saturday, December 3, at 8am PT / 11am ET.  I have attended all of the FTU Virtual Seminars over the last 2 years and they are always well done, educational, and entertaining – and I am sure this seminar will be no exception!  I will be presenting about Vacasa Vacation Rentals and here is the rest of the schedule.

If you register for the seminar, but are unable to watch the live stream, you can access the recording of the seminar and watch later on.  This is also a great way to re-watch your favorite presentations and catch any details that you originally missed.

PSA: Check Existing Travel Reservations for Cyber Monday Price Drops (Southwest 10K, IHG 8K & Marriott 6K Points Savings)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend and your Cyber Monday is going well too.  Since everything seems to be on sale today (including travel), I checked all my existing airline and hotel reservations and found a few price drops with Southwest Airlines, IHG Hotels, and Marriott Hotels.  I’m sure other travel providers have discounts too, so check your existing travel reservations.  First up, a Southwest Airlines flight dropped 5,173 points per passenger for my wife and I to travel after Christmas.

See your Bank of America “More Rewards Day” Extra 2% Cash Back Online

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  Last Saturday, Bank of America celebrated More Rewards Day by offering cardmembers an extra 2% cash back (or an extra 2x miles) on all purchases made on November 5.  Doctor of Credit has more details about the promo.  I recently applied for the Bank of America Business Advantage Unlimited Cash Rewards Credit Card that was offering $500 cash back after spending $5,000 in 3 months.  I had to make some tax payments in November, so I waited until November 5 to make the payment and complete the $5,000 minimum spending requirement.  In this post, I will show you how to see your extra cash back from More Rewards Day.

Yearly Reminder: Max Out 10% Citi ThankYou Points Rebate on Citi Rewards+ Credit Card (10K Annual Limit)

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  I wrote a similar post in 2021 and thought I should publish a similar reminder post for 2022.  One of my favorite sock drawer credit cards is the Citi Rewards+ Credit Card.  This credit card has a pretty decent sign up bonus at the moment (20,000 Citi ThankYou Points after spending $1,500 in 3 months), but my favorite feature of this credit card is the 10% rebate on redeemed Citi ThankYou Points.  You can receive up to 10,000 Citi ThankYou Points rebated each calendar year, you just need to redeem at least 100,000 Citi ThankYou Points in a calendar year.

So why am I reminding you about this today?  The 10% rebate posts to your Citi ThankYou Points account when your statement closes.  If your statement closes on or after January 1, that will count toward your calendar year 2023 10,000 Citi ThankYou Point limit.  Therefore, you probably only have 1 or 2 more statements between now and December 31, 2022.  I will show you how to calculate how many rebated Citi ThankYou Points you have already received this year.
