New or Renewed US Passport? Remember to Update your Global Entry Online Account

Good morning everyone, happy Wednesday!  I just received my renewed passport (with extra pages and passport card) yesterday and wanted to share a quick tip with you.  Since Global Entry is tied to your fingerprints and your passport, you will need to update your Global Entry online account when you get a new or renewed passport, since the passport number and dates will change.  All you need to do is log into your Global Entry account online (https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/main/goes).  I will give you a few minutes to remember your username and reset your password (that happened to me too).  If you have Sentri, NEXUS, or FAST, the process should be verify similar.

Big Hat Tip to my friends @TheFlightDeal on Twitter for the help.  I am also contractually obligated to give a second hat tip to my overlord @dvlsadvcate (Julian – The Devil’s Advocate).

Yosemite National Park & Halfdome Weekend Trip (FlexPerks Award + 2 Hilton Award Nights)

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  I am off to Yosemite National Park this weekend with my brother and I wanted to share my trip planning with you.  First of all, Fresno is the closest major airport to Yosemite and flights to Fresno can be pricey since it is a relatively small airport.  I booked my United flight for SFO-FAT back in February and the cheapest price I could find was ~$370.  Luckily, I cashed in 20,000 US Bank FlexPoints for the trip.  I plan on purchasing some inflight food and drinks to take advantage of the $25 inflight travel credit that comes with all award bookings made with the US Bank FlexPerks Credit Card.

3 Oddball San Francisco Tourist Attractions with Goldstar & Groupon 20% Off Local Deals (GREEN20)

Good afternoon everyone.  If you live in San Francisco or are planning to visit anytime soon, here are 3 oddball San Francisco tourist attractions I recommend.  I purchased these tickets from Goldstar and Groupon during Memorial Day Weekend and experienced all of these tourist attractions this past weekend.  Let me start out by saying that I haven’t met a Goldstar offer I didn’t like and this next show is no exception.  I saw Sex and the City live drag show on Friday night at the Oasis club.  Even though I was too young to watch the show when the show originally aired on HBO (1998-2004), I was very entertained.  The performances were great and everyone (including the audience) had a great time.  This is definitely not a show for everyone, but I still highly recommend it.

Rainy Weekend Trip to Portland, Oregon using Citi Thank You Points, British Airways Avios & Club Carlson Points

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  I am heading to Portland, Oregon tonight for a short weekend trip.  I wanted to go over Memorial Day Weekend, but I thought about the trip too late and the prices were too high and the award availability was not available.  Therefore, I am going this weekend.  I like to plan 2 holidays in advance, so right now, I recommend people start making plans for Labor Day Weekend in early September.  People are only thinking about Memorial Day Weekend and Fourth of July Weekend, so now is the time to start planning your Labor Day Weekend trip.

Anyway, a few months ago, I wrote about a Bad use of Alaska Airlines $99 Companion Ticket & Codeshare American Airlines / Alaska Airlines Booking with Citi Thank You Points.  In that post, I showed how I booked an Alaska Airlines flight, that was a codeshare with American Airlines, with my Citi Thank You Points for 1.6 cents per point toward the paid ticket.  15,012 Citi Thank You Points is worth $240.19, which is a pretty good price for 2 one way tickets from SFO to PDX.
