US Bank Credit Cards Renewal Notification Explains 60 Day “Renewal Period”

Good morning everyone.  If you have been to Santa Cruz recently, please check out this post: I Need Restaurant / Activity Recommendations for Santa Cruz.  Yesterday, I was reviewing my credit card statements and spotted this Renewal Notification message on my US Bank Radisson Rewards Premier Visa Signature Credit Card.  I keep this credit card and pay the $75 annual fee just for the 40,000 Radisson Rewards anniversary points every year.  In the Renewal Notification section, it says the following (I kept the important stuff and removed everything else):

You have a “renewal period” of 60 days from the date we mailed this notification. During the renewal period, you may terminate your Account and avoid paying the Annual Membership Fee. You may terminate your Account by calling or by writing us at the Cardmember Service telephone or address shown below. During the renewal period and before you terminate your Account, you may continue to use your card without having to pay the fee. If, however, you do not terminate your Account by the end of the renewal period, you will have to pay the fee.

Each year, the Account will be subject to your payment in advance of an Annual Membership Fee of $75.00, which will compensate us for maintaining and servicing the Account for the following year.

I Need Restaurant / Activity Recommendations for Santa Cruz

Good afternoon everyone.  This coming Monday is Columbus Day and I am taking my girlfriend to Santa Cruz for the long weekend.  I’ve been to Santa Cruz a handful of times, but not in the last couple of years, and not with my girlfriend. I did some research on hotel options in Santa Cruz, but there are not a ton of great options.  There are a handful of Marriott properties charging 35K Marriott points / night, but I decided to stay at the Hyatt Place Santa Cruz instead. Paid rates are $300+ as of today (they were a little cheaper a week ago), but the points rate is a bargain, by comparison.

125K American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card Sign Up Bonus via Referral Link

Good morning everyone.  A few days ago, Doctor of Credit noticed increased referral sign up bonuses for the American Express Hilton Honors Aspire Credit Card (my referral link) and American Express Hilton Honors Ascend Credit Card (my referral link).  Both credit cards offer 150,000 Hilton Honors Points when you complete the minimum spending requirement.  At the time, the no annual fee American Express Hilton Honors Credit Card and American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card were still offering 100,000 Hilton Honors Points via referral links.  But it looks like the American Express Hilton Honors Business Credit Card (my referral link) has increased the referral sign up bonus to 125,000 Hilton Honors Points.  As a referrer, you can earn up to 80,000 Hilton Honors Points per calendar year (20,000 Hilton Honors Points per referral).  Thank you for using my referral links if you decide to apply for any of these credit cards.

Buy Miles/Points Promos Ending Sept 30: Air France / KLM 60% Bonus, American Airlines 35% Off & Radisson Rewards 30% Bonus

Good afternoon everyone.  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found a few offers that are ending on September 30.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, here are the 3 promos that are ending soon (and one that ends in early October).  First up, Air France / KLM is offering a 60% bonus when you purchase at least 4,000 Flying Blue Miles.  This offer expires on September 30.

My Barclays Credit Card Retention / Targeted Spending Offers for September 2018 [Letters Added]

Updated 8PM PT on 9/18/18: I just received the confirmation letters from Barclays and added both letters to this post.

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a great weekend.  Last week, I noticed that my $75 annual fee posted on my Barclays Wyndham Rewards Credit Card.  I signed up for this credit card during my September 2017 App-O-Rama and received 45,000 Wyndham Rewards Points as a welcome bonus (enough for 3 free nights, which I still haven’t used yet).  I wrote a similar post about my Barclays Credit Card Targeted / Spending Offers for May 2018.  In today’s post, I will share my retention / targeted spending offers on my 3 Barclays credit cards.
