Good morning everyone, thank you to everyone who entered my giveaway and shared what you were most looking forward to in March.  The winners are…

  • Chantal – have a great time taking your engagement photos!  (My cousin and her fiance recently took their engagement photos in Santa Cruz and it looked really fun!)
  • Seth – it is awesome that you were able to help your friends and family members travel, sharing is caring.
  • Luke – have a great road trip from Phoenix to Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon.  I recently did a similar trip and shared my experience here.

Boarding Area Home Page First Week Stats and SF Meetup Details

Good morning everyone, happy President’s Day!  I just completed my first week as a permanent blog on Boarding Area and wanted to share some stats with you.  Last Monday was amazing, not only was it my first day on Boarding Area, but I set a new all time high for total page views in a single day.  My previous record was around 4,700, but Monday crushed that records with an amazing 6,103 total page views!  Before you go any further, you should check out this post from last Monday: Put me in, Coach! Free CLEAR Membership, $5 off $50 Ebay Gift Cards, & Kia/Nissan Test Drive Update 1

Good evening everyone, this post chronicles my day in the miles and points (and test driving) world.  The first thing I did this morning was to sign up for a free CLEAR membership (similar to TSA PreCheck but only available at a few airports), thanks to Frequent Miler’s post.  CLEAR only works at a few airports, SFO being one of them, so I thought I would check it out.  The card does look pretty cool!  I already have Global Entry / TSA PreCheck, so why do I need CLEAR?  Great question, I’m still trying to figure that out…

TransferCar Part 1: Introduction to Free One Way Car and RV Rentals

(Hat Tip to Hank for the tweet)

Good evening everyone, let me introduce you to TransferCar, a service that works on behalf of the rental car companies who need to reposition their fleet of rental cars and RVs around the country.  TransferCar’s idea is simple: “rental car companies are spending large amounts of money on relocating cars between their branches, in order to position their fleet for new hires. They can either use expensive trucks or trains or they can let you drive it for free. The rental operators win, you win.”  Check out TransferCar today.

Put me in, Coach! Travel with Grant moves to Boarding Area!

Good afternoon everyone, I have some very excited news to share.  Starting today, Travel with Grant is moving to the Boarding Area home page, permanently!  Do you see the new Boarding Area banner at the top of the page?  It’s official!

For those that don’t know, Travel with Grant was born on May 1, 2013.  The idea of starting a travel blog came to me as I was reading The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau (Amazon) on my way home from FTU DC (the first FTU DC in Tysons Corner, Virginia).  Travel with Grant was the first blog I ever created and I had never touched WordPress before then.

Fast forward 21 months later and here I am… on the home page of Boarding Area!
