AutoSlash Saved Me $1300+ on 2 Hawaii Car Rentals (Final Results)

Good afternoon everyone.  On May 27, I wrote PSA: Rental Car Rates are Sky High, Book ASAP.  In that post, I shared my bewilderment at the sky high rental car rates, especially in Hawaii.  I needed 2 small / economy rental cars for Lihue and Kona for a 9 day trip and the cheapest prices available were $1,967.98 total for both rentals.  At that time, I had about 2 months before my Hawaii trip, so I put all my trust and faith in AutoSlash to find me cheaper rental cars.  Less than 2 weeks later (June 9), I wrote AutoSlash Already Saved Me $400 on 2 Rental Car Reservations.  Saving $400 in less than 2 weeks was a great start, but I hoped AutoSlash could continue to find me cheaper rental cars.  2 weeks after that (June 21), I wrote AutoSlash Saved Me Another $500 on 2 Rental Car Reservations.  I had already saved $900 on my 2 rental cars in less than a month and almost cut the cost of the rental cars in half.  Luckily, AutoSlash was not done working their magic.  In this post, I will share my final results and show you how AutoSlash saved me more than $1,300 on my 2 rental cars.

The last and best AutoSlash deal for Lihue came on June 20 from Hertz for $397.87.

My CLEAR Experience: Reactivating Membership, Adding Family Member, & Airport Biometric Process

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  A month ago, American Express added a $179 CLEAR credit to AMEX Platinum Cards.  I had an old / dormant CLEAR account that I signed up for and used a few years ago, so I figured I would reactive my CLEAR membership.  Frequent Miler has a great resource on 5 ways to get CLEAR for less and one of the ways is to be an AMEX Delta credit card holder and add a family member for less than the cost of a single membership.  In this post, I will cover my experience reactivating my CLEAR membership, adding Laura as a family member to my CLEAR account, and her experience with the airport biometric process (getting her fingerprints and eyes scanned).

3 Buy Miles / Points Promos Ending Soon: IHG (75%), Virgin Atlantic (70%), & United Airlines (50%)

Good afternoon everyone, happy Friday!  I was working on my Buy Miles & Points Page and found 3 offers that are ending soon.  Always check the math to make sure that buying miles & points makes sense for you.  Do not buy miles & points speculatively unless you have a use in mind.  With that said, here are 3 offers that end soon.  Up first, IHG Hotels is offering up to a 75% bonus, depending on the number of IHG Rewards Club Points you purchase.  This offer expires on August 13.

Citi Credit Card Payments Not Showing Online & in Citi App (YMMV)

Good morning everyone, happy Friday.  I was reviewing my recent Citi credit card statements and noticed a bug on the Citi website and on the Citi App.  For some of my credit card accounts, it is not showing the payments in the Transactions section.  I needed to navigate to the Payment Activity page to confirm that the payment actually posted to my account.  I will show you what is happening and how to verify that the payment posted to your account successfully.  If your current balance is $0.00, that most likely means that the payment posted successfully.

Here is what one of my Citi AT&T Access More Credit Card accounts looks like online.

Quick & Easy Credit Limit Increases with the Citi App (No Hard Pull or Credit Check)

Good morning everyone.  I wrote a similar post in 2019 but I thought it was worth a refresher (Easily Request a Credit Limit Increase (No Hard Pull) via the Citi App).  If you have a Citi credit card and use the Citi App, you can quickly and easily request a credit limit increase through the Citi App.  I will walk you through the steps and share the results of my 4 Citi credit limit increase requests.  Having larger credit limits help with your credit utilization ratio and there are no hard pulls or credit checks (all 3 of my credit reports are currently frozen and I didn’t receive any credit monitoring alerts after making the credit limit increase requests).

I will go through the steps on my Citi Rewards+ Credit Card, but the steps are the same for any Citi credit card.  To get started, sign into the Citi App and click on the credit card you want to do a credit limit increase on.  Then click the View Credit Limit, APR & More link.  Then click the Request an Increase link.
