Missed News and my CLEAR Card Enrollment Experience

Good morning everyone, dang, I take one day off from blogging to finish my taxes (such a pain in the butt) and I miss out some big miles and points developments.  I guess sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, there was an issue loading Redbird/Bluebird/Serve Cards and even logging into your account.  I was able to load the last $1,500 onto my Redbird Card last night, so everything seems back to normal.  I looked around my Redbird account and looked for new features, but didn’t see anything new.  Frequent Miler has the latest info.

Evolve Money Update: 3% Fee for Prepaid Debit Cards and Gift Cards Beginning February 24

Good afternoon everyone, today is the last day to use prepaid debit cards and gift cards on Evolve Money without paying a 3% fee.  Starting tomorrow (February 24), Evolve Money will begin adding the 3% fee to all bill payments paid for with a prepaid debit cards and gift cards.  There is also a hint as to what is coming: increased limits on transactions (payments for more than $999) which could be useful for people paying larger bills like mortgages.

Last Call for No Fee Evolve Money Bill Payments

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend.  Last week, I wrote Poll: Is Evolve Money Dead? 3% Fee for Gift Card Payments Next Week.  But according to Doctor of Credit’s post, Evolve Money is allowing certain credit cards to be added as a debit card and used to pay bills.  I added a few credit cards to my account and here are my successes and failures.  Only my US Bank Club Carlson Business Credit Card worked, but apparently Barclays Arrival Plus is working as well.

Future Meetups: San Francisco, OC TravelCon, and FTU San Diego

Good morning everyone, I just had a lovely breakfast at the Renaissance ClubSport Walnut Creek Hotel (a version of the Marriott Renaissance collection that has a huge focus on exercise and fitness).  I have relatives in town, so I checked them into their room last night and got them free breakfast, compliments of my Ritz-Carlton account (Gold Elite Status).

That brings me to my next point.  Since I have relatives in town, I have decided to reschedule the SF Meetup that was originally supposed to be held tomorrow afternoon in San Francisco.  I have moved the meetup to Saturday, March 14.  Why so long?  Let me explain…  Continue reading →

Poll: Is Evolve Money Dead? 3% Fee for Gift Card Payments Next Week

Good evening everyone, a new week, a new Evolve Money enhancement.  Beginning next week (not sure exactly what date that means), gift cards and debit cards from smaller banks (what is considered a small bank?) will be hit with a 3% bill pay fee.
