My Good & Bad Experience with 2 Vacasa Vacation Rentals in Hawaii (Booked with Wyndham Rewards Points)

Good morning everyone, happy Friday!  A few months ago, I booked 6 nights in Kauai (4 in Princeville and 2 in Poipu) with Wyndham Rewards Points for stays at 2 different Vacasa vacation rentals (read My Experience Booking Vacasa Vacation Rentals with Wyndham Rewards Points).  Since I have the Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Business Credit Card, I get a 10% discount on all awards stays, so the cost per night was 13,500 Wyndham Rewards Points (or 81,000 points total for 6 nights).  In this post, I will share the good and bad experience I had with these 2 Vacasa vacation rentals.

My Experience Booking Vacasa Vacation Rentals with Wyndham Rewards Points

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your week is going well.  A few weeks ago, Greg the Frequent Miler wrote 2 great articles about using Wyndham Rewards Points to book Vacasa vacation rentals (article 1 and article 2).  I wanted to provide my experience booking 2 Vacasa vacation rentals, so I followed the 4 steps that Greg laid out in the second article.

I have an upcoming trip to Kauai this summer, so I used the Vacasa search tool to see what properties were available for the dates of my trip.  The dates in this post are just example dates and not the real dates I booked.  For a 2 night stay from July 1-3, there were 36 rentals on Kauai.  I wanted to stay in the Princeville area on the north side of the island, so I clicked the 15 number to zoom into those properties.

Welcome Back TWG Subscribers – I Fixed My Newsletter!

Good evening everyone, I hope your week is going well.  A few days ago, I noticed that my newsletters were not being sent out to subscribers.  After doing some digging, I found out that the last 2 newsletter emails that went out were on November 3 and December 19.  I’m not sure what happened to the newsletters for all of the other days :/

I fixed the issue, so my newsletters should be scheduled to go out at 5pm PT every day that I have a new post.  Scroll to the bottom of the post to see a list of all the blog posts you may have missed if you haven’t visited my site in the last few months.

My Overly Ambitious 2024 Airline, Hotel & Credit Card Predictions

Good morning everyone, I hope your holiday season is going well.  Yesterday, I wrote The Results Are In! My Wild & Crazy 2023 Airline, Hotel & Credit Card Predictions.  In that post, I shared how my 2023 predictions did (spoiler: not great).  But I am not deterred because 2024 is a new year and I have several new predictions that are surely to come true.  Without further ado, here are my predictions for 2024:

My 2024 Airline Predictions
Alaska Airlines or Southwest Airlines will introduce a “family pooling” benefit for miles or travel credit.
American Airlines will allow Web Special awards to be changed online (currently, they can only be cancelled).
British Airways will add another airline (besides Finnair) to the Avios family.
Delta will change their 15% SkyMiles discount for Delta credit cards holders.
United will allow you to combine multiple travel bank funds and future flight credits for the same reservation.
